It had been a few weeks of Kat and Klaus being together. During those few weeks, things had gone smoothly, no problems really. Everything seemed to be starting on the peaceful scale. However, lately, it seemed that things were starting to happen between the factions again. Vampires were even trying to go after witches and destroying things. Because of this, Kat was doing what she could to help the witches, which seemed to be helping to construct the witches' float.

That night, a party for the werewolves was to be held, so the witches were getting everything put together, Kat and Freya helping out. Freya was doing her part, being a witch herself, but also because she and Kat both liked to be helpful. Everything was going great and all, but with vampires trying to cause trouble, both of them knew, along with the witches and a few of the wolves present, that it probably wouldn't last long. They both just hoped that any havoc that would happen would wait until after the party started and finished for the wolves. They were all attempting to keep things peaceful, but some of the vampires didn't seem to think it was possible to live in harmony with wolves.

As Kat helped out at one of the tables, Freya helping at a table that was a distance away, Kat looked to see Klaus come into the room. He'd been more helpful lately than he used to be, and she'd grown to see a part of him he didn't often show his siblings, so having him there, it almost seemed safer. She knew that he would never let anything happen to her if he could help it.

Suddenly, when she turned back to what she'd been doing, there was an explosion inside the entire building, causing everyone to be thrown, as well as causing most of the building to be blown up. Some people were injured, some buried by the pieces of wood and debris from the building, and others were either not injured or were beyond any form of help.

Klaus got up, as his ears healed enough to hear again after the explosion. Then he looked around at everyone. He could see the destruction, but also saw that Freya was fine it seemed, which was a relief to him. After all, he didn't want to lose any of his family. At least, the part of his family he actually cared about and loved. He couldn't see Katerina, though.

He went over to Freya.

"Get everyone out of here that can make it. I'll find Katerina," he instructed her. "Then I want you home, and Rebekah here," he added to her.

Freya wanted to stay to help and even go search for Katherine, but she knew when Klaus told you to do something, there was no room for any argument, so she did as she was told. Then, after she got home, she informed Rebekah on everything and that Klaus wanted her there as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Klaus was searching for Katerina everywhere that he could. Then, finally, after a while of searching, he finally located her and got her unburied from the pieces of wood and debris. That's when he saw her injuries. However, he didn't want to chance feeding her any vampire or hybrid blood, so he did what he could.

He knelt at her side, looking at her, and rested a hand on the side of her face. She was pale from blood loss, there was blood on either side of her head, and she had a lower stomach wound.

"Katerina, luv. Stay with me," he pleaded, even though he wasn't sure if she could hear him or not. He hoped that she could. He'd known her for several hundreds of years. Now that he actually cared, he didn't want to lose her for good. After all, he knew that she would always be a fighter. Even on her deathbed. If he could leave town with her, he would. However, being king of New Orleans, he couldn't risk doing that. Plus, he didn't want it to be overtaken by anyone else. He loved his city.

Rebekah entered the building, which was when she saw the horrific sight of the aftermath. The explosion had left quite a number on the building, but even worse on everyone that had been inside the building. Now she knew why Klaus had wanted her here. There were a lot of people that were injured badly, but some had been killed in the explosion. And considering she'd known that Katherine had been with Freya here, she could only imagine the damage. After the amount of time that Katherine had stayed with them, she'd found that Katherine was not the best person to be human. She was pretty bad at being human. She also was a danger magnet. Worst than Elena had been as a human.

She scanned the inside of the building, only to find where Klaus was with Katherine, so she approached and knelt at the other side of the doppelganger. Seeing how injured she was, it didn't seem to be that bad, but the worst of her injuries was her lower stomach wound.

Once Rebekah had taken care of Kat, Klaus took her home. Then Rebekah tended to everyone else that she could, before heading back to the compound.

When Kat woke up, she was in Klaus' room, him seated on her bedside, a hand on the side of her face.

"You survived, yet again," Klaus commented.

She gave a smile.

"And I probably always will," she replied, before noticing that she wasn't actually healed, which made her realize that Rebekah had tended to her, instead of Freya healing her. She knew that Klaus wouldn't attempt his blood, considering she was human and they didn't know the aftermath of the cure.

She sat up in bed and he took his hand away from her face. Then, after a moment, they began to kiss, before they pulled away.

"I'm glad that you're okay," he told her.

She gave a smile.

"As am I."
