(Don't Play Song Yet!)

Later that night...

Artemis was walking around the tower and found another bedroom, and in it was a record player with a crate of records. She was looking through the records to see if there was a good song to play. As she was looking through the records someone walked in.

"what are you doing in here?" she turned around and saw Gar standing in the doorway.

"I was just looking for something good to play," she told him " can I help?" he asked with a smile.

"uh sure," she said with a smile. He walked over next to her and started looking through them with her. While they were looking through the records she couldn't help but look at him, she looked at his features. His green and black hair, his brown eyes, nice smile, and his strong arms. She bit her lip as she looked over his body, till he talked to her.

"what are you looking at?" he asked her, she looked back at the records.

"uh nothing," she told him. He was about to say something then she found something good to play.

"found one," she told him walking over to the record player. She put it on and it began to play.

(Play the song)

'Wanna believe what you say
But I hate you on most days'

"May I have this dance?" she asked him holding her hand out, he took her hand in his and pulled her closer. They began swaying side to side while staring into each other's eyes.

'But I, I'd rather fight
Then lose sleep at night at least you're all mine and if I have to choose my heart or you, I'm gonna lose, yeah what if nothing ever will change?

Oh, I'm caught between your love and a hard place oh, I wish there was a right way I'm caught between your love and a hard place, oh oh, oh, oh, oh,

'Do I even have a choice when
I'm gonna have to pick my poison?
You hurt me so good, it's so good
And even when you cause tears
You're the one who wiped them away
Maybe that's the reason I stay, I stay'

As they were dancing together, Artemis felt something, something that she had never felt before. The feeling was warm and inviting, it made her feel alive and better than she had ever felt in a long time. She tried to fight it but she lost.

'What if nothing ever will change?
Oh, I'm caught between your love and a hard place
Oh, I wish there was a right way
I'm caught between your love and a hard place, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh'

He spun her around and pulled her closer to him as they were swaying side to side. He felt good inside, as his heart was beating faster than ever. Her smiling made him smile and feel loved. But this love was different.

'Oh, I'm caught between your love and a hard place
Oh, I wish there was a right way (oh, oh, oh, oh)
I'm caught between your love and a hard place, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh '

'I'm caught between your love and a hard place
What if nothing will ever change?
I'm caught between your love and a hard place'

Even though the song ended they kept swaying and staring into each other's eyes. They began to lean forward, about to kiss till someone walked in.

"Hey you guys, what are you doing?" Conner asked. Gar and Artemis moved away from each other.

"uh...I'm gonna go...thanks for the dance" Artemis said to Gar "yeah, anytime" he said back as she walked out of the room. Gar then gave Conner an angry look, and Conner didn't understand why.

Conner followed Artemis so he could talk to her. He tapped on her shoulder and she turned around.

"hi, my name is Conner," Conner said with a smile and Artemis smiled back.

"hey Conner, what's up?" "I was wondering if you could tell me where you were born?" Conner asked.

"why?" Artemis asked confused. " I just want to know," Conner said with a nice smile and Artemis smiled back.

"well first tell me where you were born?" "I was made in a lab by my dad Lex Luther" Conner told her.

"oh ok...but I thought you were the son of Superman?" Artemis asked confused.

"I am...he's also my dad, and then there's my mom Eve," Conner told her and she looked shocked.

"wow...ok, uh...that's a lot," Artemis said in shock. "yeah," Conner said.

"ok after what you just told me I need a drink, hell you need it more than I do," she said.

"I don't like alcohol," Conner told her.

"ok well, I'ma get myself a drink and tell you about where I was born ok," she said.

"ok," Conner said. They went to the kitchen and Artemis poured herself some Scotch. She then saw Gar walk in.

"what are you drinking?" he asked her. "Scotch," she said and he gave her a 'really' face, she just shrugged.

"what...Scotch is my favorite" she said before taking a sip. She then looked back at Conner.

"ok, so I was born in Rio, but lived in Havana...my mother would always take me to visit Rio because she had a friend there... I remember this one time she took me to a fountain where she uses to sing to me at when I was a baby...this guy who owned a small pop-up shop, carved a statue of my mother singing to me at the fountain and he gave it to her but sold more. He was a nice guy... I loved visiting him." she told him and Gar couldn't help but listen.

"what about Havana?" Gar asked.

"Havana...was my home, when I was five, me, my sister and my mom would always walk past these guys playing music and we would always dance to it...we would get vegan hot dogs and...when the sunset we would sit on the roof of some building by the ocean and watch... It was so beautiful, and our mother told us that "whenever the sun rose or set, it was a doorway between the day and night, and that we would be the most connected during those time" and we were." she said before taking another sip.

"do you ever miss it?" Conner asked. "sometimes, I wish I could turn back time, but uh...life doesn't work that way now does it," she said as she downed the rest of the Scotch to try and hide her tears. Conner got up and hugged her, and she hugged back, Gar smiled. Even though she may seem like a tough killer, she was really a sweet girl who wanted to be loved. Artemis looked over at Gar staring at her and smiled at him, and he kept smiled back.
