______________
Shoto wasn't in class today, which both worried Katsuki and also confused him. He's usually always in class, and today he wasn't. He snuck his phone out of his pocket to text Todoroki, only to not get a response. Which was weird. While yes, it's only been like a week since they admitted to liking each other and all that mushy gushy shit Katsuki still worries about him.
He's gotten to know him a bit better. Aizawa was talking to Present Mic about something and told the kids to wait for a second, so they did. They waited, and it had already been about fifteen minutes until Aizawa walked into the classroom with a worried face. "Bakugo, I need you to go check on Todoroki," Aizawa told the student. He didn't lookup. He kept looking at his phone, waiting for that little bubble to pop up.
"Bakugo," Aizawa repeated. "Bakugo!" Kirishima yelled. That made Katsuki jump slightly, and he looked up about ready to punch someone. "I need you to check on Todoroki," Aizawa repeated himself. He didn't hesitate to leap out of his seat and rush over to the dorms. Everyone looked at each other and noticed how worried Katsuki was.
When he ran outside, the cold, brittle air hit his face and bit at his nose and ears. He forgot his stuff in the classroom and, at this point, didn't care. He was freezing, yes, but there was a bad feeling in his gut. His breath showed in front of him each time he exhaled. The dorms were about ten minutes from the actual school itself, and Katsuki's athleticism made it easier for him to get there faster.
When he got there, he felt the temperature drop farther down. He was inside; it should've been warmer inside than it is outside. He shivered and crossed his arms against his chest. He gently called Shoto's name. He knew he wouldn't answer, but it was worth a shot. The closer he got to Shoto's dorm, the colder it got.
"Shoto?" he said gently. Looking down at the ground, he noticed small flakes of snow scattered about. His eyes furrowed, and he raised his head to see Shoto's door covered in ice. He felt his breath hitch. "What the hell?" he whispered out. "Sho is everything okay in there?" he asked through the door. There was no response. "Todoroki. C'mon, answer me! Is everything okay in there?!" he yelled. At this point, Katsuki was freezing, and he didn't know if what he felt in his gut was telling him something is wrong or if it was telling him to check on him.
"Look, I'm gonna come in. You better have clothes on!" he said, slowly opening the door. The crunch of the ice as the door opened made Katsuki cringe. When he opened the door, he saw Shoto's whole room covered in ice from the ceiling to the floor. The only part of his room that wasn't covered was the right side of the room. "Sho?" Katsuki asked wearily. Slowly he walked towards Shoto's bed and noticed him shivering underneath the covers.
Shoto looked at him, and a tired smile appeared on his face. "Kat..." he whispered out. Shoto's forehead had a sheen of sweat on it, and Katsuki could tell just by the way Shoto's skin looked paler than usual and the roughness of his voice that he wasn't okay. He lifted his hand and pressed it against his forehead. "You're burning up," he told the dual haired male. He noticed the thermometer on Shoto's bedside and picked up.
"Open your mouth," he instructed. Sticking the thermometer under Shoto's tongue, he waits to hear the beep of it before taking it out.
100.4 was Shoto's temperature.
"That's really high...alright, we gotta get you up," he whispered out as he helped him out of bed. Todoroki leaned against him as they walked to the connected bathroom. Setting him down on the toilet, he turns on the bath and puts some lukewarm water in it to help break the fever.
When it came to Shoto, he never liked admitting when he didn't feel good. He hated being sick, and with a quirk like his, he tends to lose all control over it when he's sick. It's mainly his left side that goes haywire when he's sick. He's got a good grip on his right side cause of how long he refused to use that side of his quirk. (Quiznacking thanks, Endeavor)
Feeling a chill come over him, he mutters out, "f-fuck." He felt his whole body tense, and his stomach whirl as it tried to keep down his breakfast from this morning. He really only ate some crackers that he had in his room from last night. Katsuki looked up at him and cupped his cheeks. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling good?" he asked him. "I-I did...didn't wa-...want to both-bother you," Shoto said between his shivers.
"Get in the tub and tell me once you feel the shivers stop, okay?" Katsuki instructed. "I'm gonna go get you some water and something to eat," he said. Todoroki just nodded, too tired to actually speak. His body was exhausted. Last night he woke up around three with the feeling of wanting to throw up and a low-grade fever, but he didn't think much of it. But then, around six or seven, he felt himself getting colder.
It was cold outside, and it's been snowing for around two months now. Shoto's not one to get sick during the winter, but when he does, it exhausts his body to the max. Katsuki's the one who gets dangerously sick. He sometimes refuses to go to the hospital once no one can do anything for him. One year, he had passed out in the hallway and wasn't found until the morning. He was running a dangerously high fever, and Eijiro was the one to notice him first.
He carried him to recovery girl. He didn't wake up until a couple of days later. When that happened, Shoto felt himself go pale and like he wanted to be with Katsuki the whole time he was in recovery girl's care.
He laid back in the tub and felt the shivers fade as time went on. He was relieved that his body was getting a break from the convulsing he'd been doing for the past eight hours. Katsuki walked up to Shoto's dorm again, and when he came in, he put a hand over his eyes and announced that he was coming in. "I'm coming in, Sho!" he yelled. Shoto curled into a ball and watched as Katsuki walked in with a towel and some clothes.
"You can uncover your eyes, Kat," he said calmly. He lowered his hand and raised the towel up. When Shoto got up, he wrapped the towel around him and got another towel to dry Shoto's hair. He blushed when the towel slipped a little, and he could see Shoto's waist. He had the towel wrapped around his whole body and lost his grip on it. Caught it just before it showed everything.
"Th-There's um...there's some applesauce on the bedside table, and I brought some tea and Tylenol to lower the fever a bit once it comes back," Katsuki told him. Shoto hummed in acknowledgment. "Mmm. Thank you," he said.
