The two boys finished up their food and said their goodbyes. Their hands intertwined with one another and their cheeks flushed. The soft glow of the Christmas lights on stores let off a golden hue on both boys. Some snow fell as the boys walked around. "How're you feeling after everything?" Shoto asked. Katsuki let out a deep sigh and answered honestly. "I'm not sure how I feel. If I'm being honest there's a lot of things that are going through my head. It's almost Christmas. I'm nervous to high heaven about how this is gonna go. I don't what the hell is gonna happen. Nor do I know if I'm gonna be pushing you away or locking myself in my-" he was cut off by a soft kiss being pressed against his lips.
"Don't worry about that. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Right now just be with me. Let's have fun and be all mushy gushy like they do in the hallmark movies." Shoto whispered. A smile crept up onto Katsuki's face and he felt himself chuckle. He wrapped his arms around Shoto's neck, smiling when he felt one of Shoto's hands around his waist and the other tilting up his head to meet his. They both kissed one another slowly and lovingly before pulling apart and giggling like children.
"...hey I have an idea," Shoto said as they went to go sit on a bench that looked right at the big tree. "And what may be your idea?" Katsuki said leaning against him. Shoto hesitated for a moment, not wanting to ruin this moment but he decided to shoot his shot. "....tomorrow why don't we go visit your mother," Shoto suggested. He could feel Katsuki tense up as he said those words. But slowly Katsuki felt his body relax. He felt his heart rate go all crazy. Not because of him being nervous or anything but because Shoto wants to go visit his mother with Katsuki. "...you wanna come with?" Katsuki said trailing off.
"Of course I do. If it means meeting your mother it's worth it." Shoto told him. "But you won't be-" Shoto interrupted him "Yes I know. But she's the woman that brought you into this world and is the woman who loved you. I wanna be able to hear stories about her and I want you to feel comfortable enough to tell me those wonderful stories, Katsuki." Shoto said cupping the blonde's cheek. "She would love to meet you," Katsuki whispered out.
"You wanna hear a story about her, Sho?" Katsuki asked looking at the tree. "I would love to," he said lovingly. "When I was I wanna say maybe five or six we lived in this two-story apartment and I used to always put my head in between the railing as some sort of joke. Each time my mom would say 'Don't do that, kit-kat. You don't wanna get your head stuck.' and then she'd take me and pick me up before zooming me across the room like a superhero. There was another time when Deku had come over and my mom had this white rug that she forbid us to ever go on..." Katsuki said looking at Shoto.
"You didn't..." he trailed off "We were finger painting and my mom had told us to not go on that rug when we had stuff on us. Well, Izuku had accidentally walked on the rug to get to the kitchen. He had a container of bright neon yellow paint and he ended up tripping. My mom was in the kitchen making us our favorite snack tray. Mind you we had this wall that split this room from the kitchen and when he tripped my mom hadn't noticed the bright neon yellow paint yet. I remember hearing a small thud and I went over there to find Deku sitting there with paint all over his face and tissues all over the rug to get the paint out." he let out a laugh as he told this story.
"I remember telling Deku to help me put a blanket over the spot and we can lay on it and pretend we're looking at shiny things in the sky. Little did we know my mom had seen the whole thing and was videotaping it nonetheless. I remember the amount of panic that Deku and I went into when my mom walked into the room. My mom was laughing as she picked both of us up and set us back in the living room before saying 'It's okay boys momma to the rescue.' We never told my dad." Katsuki finished. "Oh my god!" Shoto said laughing. "My mom used to always try celebrating every holiday she could with the family."
"She used to go all out and make many different dishes. I used to stare at her in awe when she would cook. It was like when she did cook she became so focused she didn't recognize what she was doing to what she was making. But every single time she would make something it came out amazing. She's the person who taught me how to cook. She started teaching me when I was about four. I was her sou chef. There was one Christmas where she forgot to make one of my uncle's favorites foods and she became all mission impossible. Since she didn't have the ingredients she ended up going to the store and getting it. But she couldn't exactly leave the house so she had this whole plan set up." Katsuki said laughing lightly at the memory.
"She ended up getting it but that was only because one of my aunts had to make up an excuse to help my mom out. It was a fun predicament." he finished. "I bet. I never really got to celebrate the holidays but every Christmas my siblings would come up to my room and set up a small Christmas tree in the corner of my room. They used to always give me presents too. I was too young to go out and buy something for them so they always told me to make them a picture and they'd stick it onto their bedroom doors." Shoto told him.
The two reminisced these memories as the night went on. Time went by faster than they could've imagined because before they knew it they were making their way to the large group of people that called friends.
