"I could say the same, Bakugo." he shot back. A red hue came onto Katsuki's cheek as he heard the small comment Shoto said. "So, are you two lovebirds going on a date?" Mina asked teasingly. "Yes, actually. Now that I'm feeling better, I can finally take Katsuki out." Shoto responded. "Woah~ First name basis and everything." Kaminari teased. "Oh, shut the hell up, dunce face." Katsuki groaned.
"Have fun, you two! Be safe." Kirishima told the two. They both slightly nodded while Bakugo grumbled out a muted response of "We will, shitty hair." Hand in hand, they walked out of the school and settled on walking to the cafe. Seeing as the weather wasn't too cold and the coffee shop was only five minutes away, they walked. Not to mention the lights are up in the square, and Katsuki's been a real sucker for the pretty twinkling lights. It was what he and his mom did while his dad was out working.
She would take him out for lunch at his favorite place, and then they would walk around and have fun. Shoto looked down at Katsuki, him not noticing the dual haired males on him. He felt a smile form on his mouth and continued to stare in awe of Bakugo. His fluffy blonde hair gently bouncing with each step, and his cheeks had a pink hue on them. It just barely showing. He could see Katsuki's eyes sparkle with a hint of hope, and he felt his heart melt when he saw a smile come onto Katsuki's face.
Their hands intertwined with each other and the snow crunching underneath their feet as they walked down the street. They could hear some gently playing Christmas music echoing throughout the square. For once, Katsuki's feeling happy that he's hearing Christmas music. He finally feels that little joy he'd been longing for, and he liked it and wanted it to stay.
As they were walking, they walked past the small restaurant that Katsuki used to go to. It was now shut down and on the other side of town. He felt his eyes sting the more he remembered all the fun dinner dates he would have with his mom. Before she got sick, she would always take him there when she wanted to have some one on one time with him. Katsuki always got some hot cocoa and some spicy katsudon. While his mom always got some Butajiru.
Shoto noticed the smile on Katsuki's face falter slightly, and he stopped for a second. Turning Katsuki to face him, he sees Katsuki's eyes glossed over and his nose red as ever from the cold and from the tears. "Hey... what's wrong?" he asked. "Nothing...it's just...my mom and I used to go here. Before it closed." Katsuki responded. His voice was wavering, and he was on the brink of letting those tears go.
'Ah. That's why he's sad.' Shoto thought to himself. "I didn't mean to put a damper on the date," Katsuki mumbled. He sniffled and felt a soft hand cup his cheek wearily. "You didn't damper the date, Bakugo. It's okay..." Shoto comforted. "It's okay," he said once more. Gently he pushes the two of them to the side, so they aren't in the middle of the walkway and wipes the tears away from Bakugo's face before leaning down and pressing a kiss on the tip of his nose. Katsuki's eyes went wide at the affection, and his cheeks got even redder.
"S-Stop it!" he whined, flustered. Shoto let out a chuckle and hugged the shorter male, pressing a kiss onto the top of Katsuki's head and gripping his hand again. "C'mon. Your spicy mocha frap is waiting for you." he teased. "Oh shut up, half-n-half!" he shot back. "Mmm, no, thank you. I like hearing you laugh." Shoto commented.
"Me too," Katsuki whispered.
_____At the Coffee Shop____
Shoto opened the door for Katsuki and stepped to the side, waiting for him to walk in. The small bell signaling someones here. "Hi! Welcome to Aroma Mocha! What can I get for ya?" the cheerful barista asked. "Umm...I'll get the spicy mocha frap," Katsuki said. The barista glanced between the two before looking down to see their hand clasped together. A look of disgust came over her face, and she rolled her eyes.
Katsuki caught this and felt an irritated feeling bubble in his stomach. "and what can I get you?" she asked coldly, looking at the dual haired male. "I'll get the caramel latte, please," he said. She got their orders and, before the two could leave, said, "I don't know how you think you two being together is okay." That got Katsuki's attention, and the irritation now turning into frustration had him let out a laugh.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know loving someone could be so fucking bothersome. That must be why you can't get the guy." he shot back. The look of absolute shock on her face was priceless. "I mean, seriously, have you looked yourself in the mirror lately? You're just jealous because I got the guy, and you didn't, bitch. Don't ruin our date just because you can't get one." Katsuki told her. "Y-You can't talk to someone like that!" she yelled, her cheeks red from anger. "Mmm, too late, hun. I just did," he said before walking off.
Shoto stared at Katsuki with wide eyes and a hand covering his mouth, trying to stifle the laughter that was on the brink of coming out.
The whole cafe had gone completely silent when they heard the commotion from the front and looked towards it. Most of them knew of her and her opinions but said nothing partly 'cause they didn't wanna start shit, but when it comes to Katsuki, he doesn't keep his mouth shut in certain situations.
When the two sat down, Shoto burst out laughing, and that then made Katsuki laugh. "Oh my god! I can-...cannot believe you just did tha-that!" Shoto managed to get out between his laughs. Soon Shoto was the only one that was laughing, and he hadn't noticed it yet. Katsuki was staring at him, and the sparkle that was once gone began to get brighter the longer he was with Shoto.
Shoto sighed and wiped a tear comically from his eyes before settling down and realizing the ash-blonde staring at him. "What?" he asked, a smile still on his face. "Your laugh is beautiful," Katsuki said without thinking. The moment he heard himself, he slapped a hand over his mouth and stared at Todoroki with a red face and wide eyes. "Really?" Shoto asked. He hadn't gotten the usual compliments that a kid should've gotten when they were younger, so every time he hears someone compliment him, he either says 'Really?' or 'No, it's/i'm not.' and continues on with his day.
But for some reason, Katsuki complimenting him like this gives him INSANE butterflies.
