A Business Man's Reason for Working Tirelessly

Blessing and Misfortune

After their distraction in the bedroom they continued unpacking the few belongings they had. After all the unpacking was done they rested on there new bed exited for a new day free from school and there brand new adventure into adulthood to begin.

[A Few Months Later]

They have gotten jobs and have started making income. They both work the same hours on the same time of day.

Damion: "God, it feels like we've been living in this house for ages already. Wait how long have we even been living here for know?" He says breathing in the air around him.

Levi: "A couple of months I think. I don't know these days have been passing by like nothing. I wish time would pass this fast back when we were in school. It would've been over before we even knew it." She says jokingly.

Damion: "I get what you're saying. I've enjoyed living with you. Hey do you think it's time for us to get married already? I mean we've been spending all our time together even the neighbors think we're married!" He says with a goofy smile on his face.

Levi: "Idiot! That's not how you ask a girl to marry you. You need to propose first." She says with a mad tone

Damion: "Ha! Yeah your right." Goes up to her and gets on one knee "Levi, will you marry me" He says opening an imaginary box and having a goofy yet serious face.

Levi: "Are you dumb! It needs to be all romantic and stuff!" She says hitting him on the head.

Damion: "Every place you're with me is romantic to me. This place seems like the perfect one to me. It's where I get to see you in your natural light." He says no longer having a goofy face just smiling at her with a warm smile.

Levi: "You idiot" She whispers turning away from him embarrassed. "Fine. Yes, I'll marry you... dummy" She says turning her bright red face back at him"

Damion: "I'll get you a proper ring later" He says standing up and giving her a kiss.

After some days of searching online for the perfect ring for her Damion had finally stumbled onto one he though was perfect. The day he arrived he asked her again but properly this time. With them now married they set there eyes to the next big thing having kids...

Levi: "Do you think we're ready?" She says walking around the room franticly.

Damion: "I have no clue, but we never really know until we try." He says staring at her from the kitchen.

Levi: "How did this even happen? You we're wearing protection and I'm pretty sure I was on my pills" She says with slight panic in her voice.

Damion: "No you said one time wouldn't hurt, and as for the condom it must've torn while we where doing it." He says oddly clam about the whole situation.

Levi: "How are you calm right know!!" She says stopping to only yell at him.

Damion: "You're doing all the panicking already plus think about it. Little versions of us walking around the house being dumb. Wouldn't that be nice?" He says holding her from her shoulders bright eyed.

Levi: "But how will we take care of it. I've never taken care of a kid!" She says putting her hands together and staring into his eyes intently.

Damion: "I'll do most of the stuff. You just need to feed it and take care of it when I'm not home. Plus you'll never know how to take care of a kid without ever actually having one." He says smiling at her and giving her a big hug.

Levi: "You're right we can do this!" She says automictically. 

Damion: "You'll be the best mom around. Trust me." He says still holding her in his arms.

With them accepting the child they went trough the months. With Damion always looking after her no matter how small the problem seemed.

Doctor: "Have you thought of the name yet?"

Levi: "Of course we have doc" She says smiling.

Damion: "If it's a girl we where thinking Alice, and if it's a boy then Josh." He said smiling like an idiot.

Doctor: "Well do you want to know its gender?"

Alice: "Of-" She begins to speak before being cut off by Damion.

Damion: "Of course doc we've been waiting for this for so long we're dying of anticipation." He said bright eyed.

Doctor: "Well congratulations it seems like Josh is perfectly healthy and will be scheduled to be born exactly on time!"

Levi: "Oh my goodness we'll be having another handsome man in the house now!" She says before Damion has time to process his reaction.

Doctor: "That will be all for today. You know to call me if anything happens. Have a lovely day."

Damion: "You too doc" He says with a brimming smile. "Can you believe it Levi?? A mini me! I can't wait" He says as their walking out the doctors office.

Levi: "Two dummies doing dumb things" She says chuckling. 

Damion: "Wow you're already saying you'll be his favorite wow" He says chuckling back to her.

The day of delivery the baby had been born with no problems and was officially named Josh. Damion and Levi learned together how to take care of their child and watched him as he started crawling and then started walking and talking. They where fascinated by all the wonders they've seen by watching him grow. His fist words his first steps his first curse word and his first day of school were memories they'd never forget they cried tears of happiness. They laughed at his awful jokes. They watched as he grew older and had started Elementary school. He was know 9 years old when it happened.

One day as Levi was driving to work, she had gotten into an accident. That day was a normal day like the rest and nothing seemed odd. No one had expected this to occur. When Damion had received the phone call he rushed out of his job and drove as fast as he could to the hospital she was in. When he had gotten there she was already in a comma. She had suffered major damage and it was incredible she even survived, but to Damion this was the worst day of his life. He could no longer see that smile that kept him from breaking down at his job. He'd have to pay for the medical bills to keep her alive, and he'd have to raise Josh all on his own. He left the hospital saddened. He picked up Josh and took him to visit Levi in the hospital. When Josh saw his mother he cried he couldn't stop from crying. When Damion saw this he lost it. He wasn't able to hold back anymore. He fell to the ground and cried as if the world had ended. He knew he couldn't afford the bills from the hospital. He had to get a better job. He had to for his wife for Levi. He told Josh the situation...

Damion: "Hey champ. Mommy is sleeping and these machines are keeping her alive. But these machines are really expensive to keep using. So your daddy is going to go and get more money to keep your mommy alive. You have to promise me that you'll watch over her while I'm gone. Don't worry about me son just keep your mom safe. Don't get into trouble. I'll also be sending you money to get what you need to stay alive. You have to be strong. For mommy ok?" He says wiping his own tears away.

Josh: "Alright dad. I'll be strong for mommy. You better come back before she wakes up or she'll be angry" He says with tears poring out.

Damion: "That's my boy. I'll be back I promise...."
