A Business Man's Reason for Working Tirelessly

Returning Home

After working on the company nonstop Damion had finally gotten everything done and ready to work with him gone. He bought a flight back home as soon as he could and got his things ready to go back home. Tired from all the work he had gotten done he fell asleep instantly when he was given the chance.

The flight to his home was nerve raking even while he was tired he couldn't sleep very much he was nervous to see Levi after what had seemed a whole lifetime. He had no idea how he would react. He kept thinking of all the possibilities and deferent reactions. Then he though about Josh. This would be the first time he'd see him face to face and not trough a cameras. He was extremely nervous and the flight had seemed to take ages to end.

Once of the plain Damion ordered an uber to take him home. The wait was killing him. He couldn't wait to see his son all grown up and as a man. He couldn't wait to see Levi. Even in her coma state. The drive was a long one. The driver was talking and talking he never shut up and he had talked trough the whole drive. It had given Damion a headache.

Once he had arrived he got nervous all over again. He got his stuff and made his way to the front door. He knocked three times and waited for an answer.

Josh opened the door and said "Dad it's been so long" and gave him a bear hug.

Damion: "You're all grown up know. When did you become so big? You're basiclly the same size as me." He says embracing Josh 

Josh: "I think I'm taller than you" He says laughing.

Damion: "Come on take me to your mom" He said finishing up the hug and smiling at him.

Josh: "Alright she's in the bedroom" He says pointing in the direction.

Damion: "upstairs, right the first door on left side" He whispers with a smile.

Damion makes his way into the bedroom they slept in so long ago and stopped right in front of the door.

Damion: "It's been so long am I even ready to see her again?" He says to himself. He shakes his head and opens the door. "Hey dear. I've missed you." He says stepping inside and looks at her

Damion: "Your still beautiful even after all this time. Oh how I've missed you." He says moving next to her and grabs her hand. "I'll stay by your side from now on. I won't ever leave you alone. No matter what..." He says caressing her cheek. "And you know how stubborn I can be dear. Nothing will ever make me leave not anymore" He says giving up on holding his tears back.

Josh: "We've missed you dad. I stayed strong like you told me. I took care of her like we promised. It's been hard on both of us but we're together now we can be happy mom will get better now that you're here dad." He says trying to hold back his own tears.

Damion: "I'm proud of you son. Come here lets have a family hug." He says holidng his arm open.

Josh stumbles over and hugs him and his mom.

Damion puts all his things away and lays down next to Levi. Falling asleep as soon as he lays his head down. He wakes up to the smell of food. He stands up gives Levi a kiss on the forehead and goes downstairs to the kitchen.

Damion: "What are you cooking it smells great." He says sitting don on the counter.

Josh: "Nothing special just some bacon and eggs" He says turning around smiling at his dad

Damion: "When did you learn to cook?" He ask wanting to catch up with Josh

Josh: "A year after you left. I needed to know since mom wasn't going to cook and I couldn't be eating junk food all the time." He says concentrating on making the food.

Damion: "I'm sorry I wasn't here kido. I'll be here from now on don't you worry." He says confidently.

Josh: "Do you even remember how to cook or have you only ever gone to fancy restaurants and ate there?" He says jokingly.

Damion: "Believe it or not I never really went to restaurants unless it was a business dinner. But even then the food wasn't that good. I swear it felt like they where trying to poison me." He says laughing.

Josh: "Well here have some food that isn't poison" He says getting him a serving of the bacon and eggs.

Damion: "Thanks for the food" He says before eating "Oh wow this is really good" He says stuffing his face.

Josh: "Wow calm down there." He says teasingly.

Damion: "You're trying to become a chef right?" He says once he's done with the food.

Josh: "Yeah" He says cleaning his hands and the plate.

Damion: "If you can make a simple dish like bacon and eggs this good their is no doubt that you'll be a great chef!" He say with a huge smile.

Josh: "Haha thanks dad. But I haven't really applied to a collage yet. I've been taking care of mom." He says turning to him.

Damion: "Well go and follow your dream. Don't worry about taking care of your mom. I'll take it from here." He says standing up and giving him a hug

Josh: "Thanks dad. I will" He says giving his dad a hug back
