A Business Man's Reason for Working Tirelessly

After working tersely for many days Damion was looked upon like a role model by the rest of the employees they all saw him like a perfect human being. Nothing got to him and he never let anyone put him down. He was always approachable and never seemed to be in a bad mood. They all loved him even the CEO did and he had taken him like his son. 

CEO: "Damion, my boy. Why don't you take a break you've been working non stop and haven't taken a single sick day. You're even here on holidays. You really deserve a brake." Says the CEO approaching Damion from his office smiling.

Damion: "Thank you for the offer sir but I must refuse." He says faking a perfectly natural smile.

CEO: "Nonsense you must. You've been working tersely since you've been employed!" He says putting his hand on Damion's shoulder.

Damion: "I have but that's only to benefit the company." He lies hiding his true reasons.

CEO: "Ahh if only my true son thought of the company the same way you do!" He says shaking his head "Come you must take a break. I can't have my best employee tiring out. I'll even pay you while you're away" He says laughing.

Damion: "It wouldn't be fare for the other if I went on a paid vacation." He says thinking about his wife and son and how he would feel awful to go on vacation while Levi is still in a comma.

CEO: "You truly are a great man to think  about how your coworkers would feel when you're given an opportunity like this! I say son, how would you like to run this company? You'd surely make this company much grater by running it!" He says putting his hands up and looking around with a smile.

Damion: "I couldn't possibly do that. I'd be robbing you of your work." He says thinking about how he wouldn't have as much time to spend with his son if he was busy running a whole company.

CEO: "HA don't be so modest! I'm an old man already and I have plenty of money to spare! Don't worry yourself about me! I'd feel better knowing that you would be the one running this place! Goodness gracious how I'd worry to death if my idiot son took over! He'd run this place to the ground!" He says laughing loudly.

Damion: "In that case I'd be glad to take you up on your offer. I hope to make you proud sir." He says thinking of all the money he would make and how he wouldn't have to worry anymore about Levi's bills and all of his son's needs.

CEO: "Alright it's settled then. Lets go out for drinks to celebrate! Tomorrow you'll officially be running this place." He says feeling proud for Damion like a dad.

Damion: "Thank you sir. I won't let you down" He says feeling like he's finally made it.

Damion's work was starting to pay of. He had become the CEO of the company and was know making tons of money. He was still the same man he always was. The money hadn't caused him to change at all. He didn't pay attention to the money at all. He was more concerned with Levi's health than luxury. 

At the celebration Damion avoided drinking. He didn't want what he'd spent so long working on to fall apart because he was drunk. His coworkers had tried to make him drink but Damion kept refusing saying that he had some important things to take care of afterwards. Although Damion hadn't drunken anything the celebration was an utter success and everyone had seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Everyone except Damion. Damion had wanted to call Josh and see how Levi was doing but he couldn't leave since this party was for him after all.

After the party had ended and everyone had left Damion was finally alone. He called Josh and waited for a response.

Josh: "Hi dad. How are you?" He said sounding sleepy.

Damion: "I'm good. How's your mom? And how have things been?" He said noticing Josh's sleepiness.

Josh: "Mom's been the same as always. As for me. I've been doing alright in school nothing to worry about I'm passing and I'm taking classes for my future career. I'm at the hospital right know. Do you want to see her?" He says smoothly and calm.

Damion: "Yes. I'd like to talk with her." He says smiling

Josh: "Alright" He says changing the camera to face forwards and show a skinny white faced woman pale as a ghost.

Damion: "God you look awful honey haha... So much has happened since you've gone into a coma. Your job called several times about your absence from work. I think they've fired you already haha. I've been working non stop saving money for all the bills. I've been doing better and I'm know the CEO of a whole company. Can you believe that? Me, a CEO?! A lazy gamer who never took anything seriously. Things have been so crazy... I've missed you. Even know you still look beautiful. Please get better soon. I have no clue how much I can take before I break down." He says shedding tears of sadness. "Thanks Josh, you're the best son a father could've asked for. I'll be sending a lot more money know so go and enjoy yourself. Thank you for looking out for your mom." He says wiping his tears away.

Josh: "And even though you're miles away your the best dad a son could have thanks dad." He says with a tear falling down his cheek.

Damion: "Well champ. I have a busy day tomorrow I'll talk with you again tomorrow. Stay safe." He says smiling still with tears.

Josh: "You too dad. Good luck being a CEO."
