Hello my darlings! It's been quite some time since I've posted anything new, let alone kept active. I apologize for that, but I am happy to say I've written some new fanfics by hand in my notebook. Just slowly but surely transferring them over to my computer to post them here! This is part of my December writing prompts I found! I hope you enjoy :)

Prompt: How many lights does one tree need?
Pairing: Loki x reader

As he set foot in the Avenger compound, he found himself rather annoyed. The entire building was colorful and filled with Christmas themed decorations. Merry music was flowing through the halls, leading the God further into the main living room. His gaze soon finding the one person he hoped to discover.. you. Loki had come to realize that you adored these types of things... or holidays as you'd always inform him. He truly found it ridiculous, but the pure joy in your eyes caused the raven haired God to melt. Of course, this was yet another thing he would never admit to you. Nevertheless, Loki found himself leaning against the doorway. Admiring you as you moved around the fairly spacious living room. It was clear that Stark had outdone himself and you got the tree you wanted. Shaking his head, Loki clears his throat.

Upon hearing him, you pause what you are doing and squeal softly. Rushing over to the God, you are hugging him abruptly. He makes a small 'oof' sound as he goes to wrap his arms around you. Carefully hugging you back as he finds a smile gracing his lips.

"Hello darling." He finally murmurs.

"Hello Loki!" You beam up at him. "Did you come to help me?"

A low chuckle leaves his lips before he can stop himself. His gaze bright with warm humor as he studies you.

"Would you like my help?"

"I would love your help!" You exclaim. "Especially with the lights!"

"Of course, my little dove." He hums sweetly.

Squealing a little, you grab Loki's hand and tug him towards the tree. The two of you spend a couple hours decorating. That is until Loki insists on getting you dinner. He disappears to get you some food. You on the other hand kept winding another string of Christmas lights around the tree. Humming along to the music, you take a step back and grin. All that was needed was one last strand of colorful lights along the top. Grabbing the ladder once more, you climb up and repeat the process. Once that's done successfully, you climb down and find the star for the top of the tree.

"Darling, how many lights does one tree need?" Loki questions, making his presence known again.

"It's a big tree Loki! Don't judge me.." you pout small. "I was saving the star for you..."

Loki's expression softens and the warmest smile forms on his lips. It would seem you were causing the God to have a soft spot.

"I would be honored to put the star on top..." he murmurs. "I brought some hot chocolate and food.. sit and eat."

Thanking him, you sit down and watch Loki go put the star on top of the tree. Once it's completed, you grin and go to plug the lights in. A gentle gasp leaves your lips and Loki glances towards you. He swears his heart nearly fails at the sight of you. The look on your features left him speechless.

"It looks wonderful, dove." He finally speaks up.

Your gaze flickers from the Christmas tree to Loki. The smile on his lips brought a soft warmth to your cheeks. You hadn't expected to see his eyes on you only.

"Thank you Loki." You hum gentle and step towards the God. He immediately registers what you are going for and catches you off guard. Loki wraps his arms around you and tugs you against him tighter. A kiss being placed on the top of your head. "I mean it, thank you for helping me with this. I know it's not really your thing."

Loki couldn't help but smile at your gentle laugh. You were right there. He thought this was a ridiculous thing to be celebrated, but it clearly meant a lot to you.

"I'd do anything you wanted my sweet dove. Anything to see you smile." He whispers and then nudges you gentle. Motioning towards the food he brought for you. Grinning at him you grab his hand and lead him over to the couch. Sitting down together, the two of you sharing food and relaxing in the glow of the Christmas lights.
