From Present to Future

Chapter 3

A few eyebrows raised. Sharp intake of breaths was heard around the room. Everyone had one thought. The consequences. Of seeing the future.

Mixture of emotions ran throughout the room. Happy, eager, confused, afraid. A ninjas life is filled with challenges at every step. For them knowing what kind of ninja they turn out to be, whether they live enough to see their next generation. Who wouldn't want to see? The genins, except a few, didn't see the negative impact of such actions. But the elders saw and tried questioning but the Hokage raised his hand, gesturing he is not done yet.

"I have already thought of the consequences but pros overpower cons. There is only one thing I ask of you. Whatever happens and whatever we see in this room stays here. It will become SS- rank secret. As a Hokage I must take all the actions I can to ensure a prosperous future of my village. And if this is one of them, then I am ready to take it. Is it clear to everyone? " Sarutobi asked with a finality in his tone, leaving no space for arguments.

While all this was happening, Naruto was having a pleasant conversation with the nine- tails himself.

"Kura, is it possible? ", asked the blonde.

" Yes kit, it is. In this world, many great shinobis have lived and died. To pass their legacy, while most leave splendid jutsus, some do develop such artifacts. Like that crystal ball Hiruzen Sarutobi has to keep a check on you. Now whether this one works or not, your third hokage must have already checked it before dropping the bomb on everyone. You should focus. "

"Yupp. Arigato Kura-sensei. " Naruro teased. He knew the fox hates being called sensei. Its such a mortal thing to do. Pfft. The fox would rather go shake hands with Madara than ever admit he loves to train the blonde and also he is worried for his jinchuriki's safety.

And again Naruto gets chakra blasted on his face by a pissed off kurama. That's sixth time now. Not counting I tell you. Must be on his PMS. Before there is a seventh attempt, Naruto promptly left the mindscape just on time when the hokage had finished his bits.

Now looking at everyone Naruto can see varying expression but he actually only wants to see one person's expression. Sasuke Uchiha. Knowing future wouldn't it mean he would know whether he was able to kill his brother or not. But that's not the actual reason. He just loves to see the normal stoic Uchiha with some expression, any expression. That's why he loves to pick fights with him every now and then.

Thinking, he turned his head to the side , and saw a very blank look on his teammate's face. He seems to be questioning himself. He could see the gears turning in this one's head. Man could he look at this face all day long and still not get tired. He is way too much gay for this certain Uchiha. Yeah he loves Sasuke Uchiha. And no he is not a fanboy. He is truly in love with him. Has been for quite sometime. Maybe sometime after the wave mission he reflected on his feelings towards Sasuke. Sue him for all he cares.

He nudged him a little and got his attention. "You okay teme? You look constipated.", he tried to joke/tease him like always. And he got the desired result. The Uchiha growled at him, showing his annoyance. But hey, atleast now he is no longer Mr. Broody, right.

The Uchiha turned to the Hokage and asked, " How does it work? "

"You have to put your hands over the sphere and circulate your chakra into it and it will project your future. Remove your hand if you want to stop it in the middle." The hokage told his audience, addressing to all present in the room. With that done, he put a silencing seal around the room. He doesn't want any unecessary people to hear about this. Its already too risky. After putting the seals, he continued, " Now, who would like to go first? "

With this question, everyone looked around expecting someone to volunteer. Kakashi turned to his blonde genin. Mainly in such situations he is always jumping ahead without any worry in the world. But he was surprised to find him sitting awfully quiet,  looking at his hands on his lap. That's second time in a day now his genin has been so quiet. But this time he couldn't blame him. Its hard to take such situation in. He may be a lousy teacher but that doesn't mean he has no care for his genins. In fact he loves them. They are truly precious to him. And he wish to protect them at all cost. No matter what future holds for them, he will be damned if he let anything happen to his genins. He won't lose his team this time around.
