When I wake up there is indeed a box on the end of my bed with a thick cloak in it. It is black and gold, in the same pattern as my kefta. Once I am dressed Genya comes to see me, doing my hair and makeup. Then we head out to the summoner's temples, where we meet Zoya and the darling.
"Now that everyone's here I will tell you which carriage you will be in, Zoya will be riding with Genya, and Alina will be with me." I innerly curse the darkling, but there's nothing I can do.
"We will be leaving in ten minutes, get to your carriages, Alina I will be with you when we leave." Ten minutes later in am sitting across from the darkling on my way to Tisebeya.
"Well Lina," the darkling says," how are you doing"
"Fine," I say stiffly.
"Now Lina, behave. I am trying to give you power, not imprison you."
"What if I don't want to" "Well the tracker will pay for it." That makes my blood freeze. I sit up a little straighter. The darkling notices the movement of course.
"Good, and know that if you step out of line once the tracker won't be so "Perfect' anymore."
I nod not trusting myself not to scream. I spend the rest of the journey staring out of the window in bitter silence. When we stop to make camp I run to find Genya and Zoya. The trip lasts three days in total, where I ride in the darkling's carriage every day. When we get to Tisebeya it is the evening. When we go to sleep I think back to the first day of travel, and why the darkling specifically said he was not trying to imprison me.
