Almost immediately after she got a call from Tahani.

Kaycee: "hey T what's up?"

Tahani: "there's a party at Josh's tonight and everyone's going"

Kaycee: "you know I'm not-"

Tahani: "please kayc, it'll be so fun"

Kaycee: "I dunno I-"

Tahani: "great me and Bailey will pick you up at 9"

Kaycee: "T you cant-"

Tahani: "kaycee please...you need to do something to occupy your time without Sean or else it's gonna be brutal."

Kaycee: "I know but a party?! Of all things?"

Tahani: "it'll be fun"

Kaycee: "but I don't drink, I'm no fun at these types of things"

Tahani: "you don't have to, a lot of people who are going don't drink"

Kaycee: "fine whatever"

Tahani: "good, I'll see you tonight"

Kaycee sighed. She didn't wanna go. Especially without Sean.

She knew he couldn't be sleeping after his long naps on the plane and before he caught sleep she needed to tell him, so she called really quick.

She knew she sounded worked up, but it was Sean, and he's seen her in a worse state.

Sean: "bubba? everything okay?"

Kaycee: "no I need to talk to you about something"

Sean: "okay okay, let me go into my room, I was watching a movie with Alex"

Kaycee: "mkay"

Sean: "why are you breathing like that, please don't have a panic attack"

Kaycee: "I'm not but, T just invited me to a party at Josh's tonight"

Sean: "okay calm down, did you agree?"

Kaycee: "I tried not to but she insisted and I'm nervous to go without you"

Sean: "well don't go then"

Kaycee: "I told her I would because she kept pestering me telling me I needed to take my mind away from missing you"

Sean: "she has a point baby girl, I know you get nervous at these things but try to just have fun"

Kaycee: "but so many things could go wrong"

Sean: "if you get overwhelmed tonight just call me"

Kaycee: "you'll be teaching"

Sean: "I'll answer if it's you, I promise"

Kaycee: "mkay"

Sean: "just please be safe and make good choices"

Kaycee: "I will bubby, I always do"

Sean: "I know that's why I'm trusting you to go"

Kaycee: "Are you sure?"

Sean: "yes, and I'll text Josh and Julian to make sure they're looking out for you"

Kaycee: "you don't have to"

Sean: "I'm almost 7,000 miles away from you kaycee, I'm not letting you go to that party without some form of protection"

Kaycee: "I wish it was you"

Sean: "my god so do I"

Kaycee: "I'm sorry I interrupted your movie"

Sean: "don't ever apologize, I'll text the guys, please be safe tonight, I love you."

Kaycee: "I will, I love you too"

Kaycee sighed. Grateful that he was so trusting, she knew how to make good choices especially since she had him in the back of her mind constantly.

She decided to go through with the party in hopes that all her overthinking was just her mind playing senseless tricks on her.

Sean pulled out his phone and brought up the group chat of him and the boys.

Sean: "hey guys, kaycee said she's coming to the party tonight and I just wanna make sure you guys look out for her sense I'm not there. I trust her, it just worries me cause I don't trust everyone else. I miss you guys like crazy, please watch out for her."

Josh: "oh my god of course man, I was already planning on it"

Julian: "I'll make sure I check in on her periodically to make sure she's okay, I've always got you man"

Sean: "and text me if something happens please"

Josh: "always"

Sean: "love you guys, thanks again"

Julian: "we love you bro, good luck in China"

Sean felt a sense of relief wash over him knowing his friends would look out for her when he couldn't.

Back in LA, kaycee went through her day as normal until it hit around 8:00, they'd be coming in an hour and she needed to get ready.

She decided on straight hair, a pair of loose jeans with fishnets underneath, and a baggy shirt that was Sean's she left tucked in the front.

She put on a tiny bit of makeup to keep herself from looking oily and called it a night.

At around 8:45 the girls were honking outside and kaycee made her way out to the car and into the backseat.

Kaycee: "you're 15 minutes early"

Bailey: "we couldn't wait any longer"

Kaycee: "wish I could relate"

Tahani: "kayc I know you're not used to this scene but it's really fun once you ease up"

Kaycee: "I believe you, it's just weird going alone"

Bailey: "why cause Sean isn't there to protect you?"

Kaycee: "no, it's just different but I'll be fine, I'm glad I'm going"

She lied because she didn't wanna make them feel bad for pressuring her to go.

She rode their in a fit of anxiety, her thoughts overwhelming her. But she used the tactic Sean taught her, to look outside or around her and find 5 things she could smell, taste, touch, hear, and see.

It always calmed her down, and he was a magician when it came to her anxiety attacks.

Tahani: "kayc are you okay?"

Kaycee: "yeah I'm good"

Bailey: "you worry us"

Kaycee: "what, why?"

Bailey: "because you're never this quiet and Sean leaving changed you"

Kaycee: "no it didn't, it's gonna be different because I'm used to having him near me...he's 7000 miles away and if something happens he's not here you know? I'm good though, there's nothing to worry about. I'll get used to it"

She knew she wouldn't get used to it. But them thinking she changed because of him gave her a weird feeling of guilt.

Tahani: "we don't wanna push you into doing this"

Kaycee: "no turning back now"
