All four of their friends sat at the island in her kitchen contemplating what to do.

They knew they had to get Ryan turned in somehow, but none of them felt like they were in the right mindset to do it right then.

In the middle of their thinking fits, Julian was brainstorming how and what to do when a FaceTime rang through on his Mac.

It was Sean.

Julian: "hey man, is kaycee asleep?"

Sean: "yeah, safe and sound, thankfully"

Julian: "how are you holding up"

Sean: "I'm not, I wanna punch that mother fucker so hard he doesn't wake up"

Josh: "woah, calm down man"

Sean: "I can't! I've been calm all night, trying to make sure I didn't stress her out because she was out through one of the most traumatic instances a teen girl could've got through, and I'm not fucking there guys!! I can't be!"

He was sobbing to them at this point, heaving in and out, finally able to let go after a night of being the person to keep everyone else in check.

Bailey: "she's safe Sean, we promise"

Sean: "but this could've ended differently!! I couldn't beat the shit out of him, but I'm not there!"

Josh: "I beat the shit out of him Sean"

Sean: "you hit him?"

Josh: "more than once"

Sean: "did he run?"

Josh: "I didn't know whether to let him go or keep hitting him, but I didn't wanna kill him. So I let him go."

Sean: "he needs to be in fucking jail...but not before I give him 2 black eyes and a broken nose, I swear to fucking god he'll be on the verge of death"

Tahani: "Sean I know you're worked up, but you can't do that. You need to think about kaycee. She wouldn't want that"

Sean: "she loves when I'm protective I can't just-"

Bailey: "she loves when you're protective, not violently territorial"

He took a deep breath looking exhausted as he buried his head in his hands.

Sean: "his hands were where only mine had been, she'd only let me in...nobody else. And he took that from her. He took that feeling of comfort. I'm so god damn afraid that she's gonna be scared to let me touch her."

Julian: "she knows you'd never hurt her"

Sean: "I know that, but she couldn't even look at her naked body in the mirror upstairs without seeing traces of him."

Josh: "but she got undressed in front of you didn't she?"

Sean: "of course"

Tahani: "then Sean, it might take her a second to regain that comfort, but she clearly trusts you. That says a lot"

Sean: "I just wish I could be there to hold her and make sure she doesn't need anything"

Bailey: "you have been here, maybe not in person but it sure does feel like it. She's had you all night, that's why she's been so calm. Without you, we would've still been sitting next to her body on that bed"

Sean: "I get it, but I could've been the one to save her and I failed her"

Josh: "bro you couldn't be here, she understands that"

Sean: "I know guys, I just feel guilty"

Julian: "understandable, but all of us are here and we're not leaving until Kaycee's family gets home. We promise"

Sean: "thank you guys so much"

Josh: "it's our job Sean, you've done so much for us, this is the least we can do."

He forcefully smiled at them.

Sean: "I'm gonna try and eat something and have some time to myself, by the time she wakes up I'll be getting to bed so, I'll see you guys later"

They nodded as he hung up and attempted to relax.

He had no appetite at all, but he forced a banana down. Alexander knew better than to question him. He'd heard him upset, crying, yelling, everything since they'd gotten back from classes, and he knew better than to keep pressing him.

He knew when Sean was ready he'd come to him for advice.

It was around 4 there when Sean came out to the living area and sat down.

Sean: "can we talk?"

Alex: "of course"

Alex shut off the TV and turned to face the entirety of his body to Sean. Giving him his undivided attention.

Sean: "I got a call earlier"

Alex: "a rough one I'm assuming?"

Sean: "there's no easy way to say it, and I wanna like every time I do but...kaycee got raped at a party tonight."

Alexander's face fell. That was the last thing he was expecting to hear come out of Sean's mouth.

Alex: "Sean, is...is she alright?!"

Sean: "she wasn't, and I've been on the phone with her for ages trying to calm her down and tell her how much I loved her...but this was so traumatizing for her."

Alex: "and I don't doubt that, do you...need to go home?"

Sean: "she wants me to stay, she wants to heal on her own and be better for me when I get home..."

Alex: "were you able to stay calm for her?"

Sean: "of course, she's my first priority. but once she went to bed I called Jules and Josh and I cried. I screamed and I cried because I wanna beat the shit out of that fucking kid"

Sean was crying into his shoulder by now, not understanding why this could happen to someone so perfect.

Alex: "she's gonna be okay Sean, she's so strong"

Sean: "I miss her so much"

Alex: "I know buddy, she misses you too"

Sean sat there in Alex's embrace for awhile, letting his tears fall that he'd been holding in all night long.

Alex: "shes got you, and that's all she needs to heal okay?"

Sean wiped his tears and nodded, understanding that it wasn't impossible for her to get better, and that if anyone could it would be her.
