Chapter 52

JENNIE POV

I just got a call from Ms. Hwang and she told me that my mom had a heart attack. Well, I noticed earlier that she was having difficulty on breathing but I just ignored it. And I don't know if I should be sad or happy. Though I really really hate my mom, she's still my mother after all.

I look like shit but thankfully, I'm wearing a facemask. I can no longer understand what I'm feeling right now. Pain, sadness, anger flowed through my veins and I think my heart will gonna explode anytime.

When I entered the hospital, my gaze landed on the nurses and doctors who are wearing full gear personal protective equipment. I was welcomed by the awful smells of the medicines. The fucking virus is getting worse day by day.

"Ms. Kim, follow me." A guy told me and she looks like one of the securities of my mom.

I followed him and as we approach the room, I saw a familiar tall guy, standing in front of the door.

"Kai, what are you doing here?" I asked him before I enter the room.

"You should see your mother first, I'm going to explain it later." He tiredly smiled at me and opened the door.

As I entered the room, she is surrounded by a doctor and a nurse. I slowly walked towards her bed.

"Hi Ms. Jennie." The nurse bowed to me and she moved to the side to give me space.

I bowed my head to her and stood beside the hospital bed. I stared at my mom who's lying unconscious.

"Uh, how is she?" I asked while looking at my mom.

"She had a heart attack.. but according to her vital signs right now.." He looked at the
notes that he was holding before talking again, "She survived and her heart is getting normal again. "

I slowly nodded and I never left my gaze to my mom, "W-what's the cause of her h-heart failure?"

"Stress and her high blood pressure were so high, it damaged her arteries causing it to  blocked and prevent blood flow to her heart muscle."

He gave his notes to the nurse, "Don't worry, she's gonna be fine. I should go now." He bowed to me.

"Thank you, doc...?"

"Dr. Chan." I know he smiled at me even though he's wearing a facemask.

"Thank you, Dr. Chan." I bowed down to him.

When Dr. Chan and the nurse already left the room, I looked back to my mom while fidgeting my fingers. This is the first time that I observed her face in a long time. She already has wrinkles on her forehead and on the side of her eyes.

"I hate you." I can feel my eyes started to fill with tears again

"I love you because you're my mother but I freaking hate you as a person." I whimpered.

"You're a pain in the ass b-but.." I stopped when I heard the door opened.

"Jennie.." Kai called me in a low-toned voice.

I wiped my eyes first before looking up to him, "Kai.."

He stood beside me and looked down at my mother,

The room stayed silent before Kai spoke, "I was there when your mom passed out.."

I furrowed my eyebrows and I let him continue his explanation.

"Before I left YG's building earlier, I went to the restroom first. Then, I saw your mom walking through the hallway, she was holding her chest.. I'm about to avoid her but suddenly, she passed out.. So.. I helped her even though.." He swallowed before talking again,  "Even though I hate her." He barely said it but I still heard it.
