Then she began thinking, 'his slippers are outside na, and his house is not locked, after all broda Tobi's house is just batcha like our own except it's worse with his tier tier tarpaulin as his roof and too many olden days zinc that looks like mummy's oil mill slippers, upon that he's not hearing abi which kind sleep is this one sef'. Suddenly she heard footstep then the door was flunged open. She stared at broda Tobi and saw that his shirt was rumpled, 'maybe he was really sleeping' she thought. " Broda Tobi sorry, I didn't know you were asleep, mummy say I should tell you to come and clean gotta for her that she'll pay you later". She rambled. " Ah ah Tochi, so na you sef, did you know the kind of sleep that I was in, now you're disturbing me, are you mad"? Broda Tobi fumbled in anger, rage in his eyes. "Broda sorry, abeg na mummy send me, I no go try am again, abeg na ,sorry..." She continued pleading but Broda Tobi seems to have some other plans for the little girl, then he smiled wearily. " E don do, I no go beat you again". He waited to see her reaction and indeed she was somewhat relieved, but he wasn't done". " But you will do small thing for me so that I will not flog you". Broda Tobi said, he knew pretty little girls were stupid, after all she was practically a kid, ' she no know bad thing'. He thought with an evil smirk plastered on his face. "What will I do for you?" She asked, almost stuttering cause she despised household chores. "Just come inside, I go tell you". Broda Tobi said and she did. He bolted his door, closed his 'rat chopped' curtain, then pulled off his trousers that were as good as rags. The he took off his shirt that were like a cloth removed from a bottle, now he was only with his dirty boxers and odd coloured singlets. "Remove your knicker?" He ordered her but she was reluctant at first then she thought 'wait oh, this one that Broda Tobi have remove his clothes too, whether he wants to go back to sleep, anyway maybe he's telling me to remove my knicker so he'll give me new clothes after all every body likes Broda Tobi cause he buys clothes for children like Adesola'. Then she adhered. As if he had gone insane he pulled her towards his bed, tore her tiny pants and started rubbing her private parts. "Broda Tobi, what is this one sef', I go tell mummy oh". She said while struggling to lift her self from the bed. Suddenly, he used his thick palm and covered her mouth then inserted his other finger into her vagina. She screamed with all her might in pain, but it was coming out like muffled voice. Then he pushed himself into her and started pounding without thinking twice. She was in pains cause it felt like Broda Tobi was tearing her 'bum bum' but she wanted to run, pleading and begging him but he never stopped. She prayed to God to help her then she found herself slipping out of this world into pure darkness but Broda Tobi wanted to satisfy his lust and inhuman urge without noticing that she was unconscious. When he was done, he stared at the child in disgust, then wore his clothes and went out of the house to relax. Few hours later Tochi regained consciousness and tried walking out of the house but it was furtile, the pains were worse but she wouldn't remain here, ' how could Broda Tobi do this kind of bad thing to her, so this is what he used to do to Adesola and Sheyi sef, chai'. She sobbed, took her pants and knickers then slowly waddled out of the house praying no one saw her. She was going to tell her mother immediately but once she stepped outside, the sun was going down and Broda Tobi was also outside. "See, if you try tell your mummy ehh, I go beat you well well, then I go tell your mother say you dey lie, you go see am". He threatened then squeezed her ear while she whined in silence hoping he lets her go. "But if you come to my house tomorrow, I will not beat you and I will not tell anybody iya". He said with an evil grin. She broke away from his grasp and ran while 'no' was screaming in her head. When Tochi got home, she walked slowly into the house only Prosper was there, sitting outside with his friends. He was only nine and two years older than her, then she made her sleeping mat and lay down. Then she remembered that mummy went to Aba market and might stay for three days before returning. 'I should be walking well before then'. She thought and cried herself to sleep.
