"Felix? What is the meaning of this?" Maria, Felix's mother was fuming.

"I-uh-"

"Don't I-uh- me. What is this? For what reason do you reek of that filthy creature?" It was two hours before the commencement of the coronation ceremony. Maria had snuck inside his son's bedroom to wish him luck but she was not ready for what had awaited her. Of course she knew the scent coming from Felix belonged to Jamaal because she had been visiting the palace with the rest of the other boys' parents for the past five years.

"Oh hell no! Please tell me this is not what I think it is Felix." She was staring dead straight at her son whose eyes were wondering all over the room but not her mother.

"Do you have any idea of what this means? Do you even have the slightest idea of what you have done?" Maria truly didn't want to yell at her son but she couldn't control herself.

"I mean- Isn't this just the same as marking like werewolves?" Felix finally opened his mouth while slightly brushing the nape of his neck.

"You must be really stupid my son if you think marking and claiming is the same thing. What have they been teaching you in this flippen school anyway if you don't even know the difference between those two things? Werewolves mark their mates while those evil creatures claim whoever they deem suitable for them. It's just another level of manipulation and addiction. They literally drug you with their scent, making you think about nothing but them. You literally become addicted to them and there's no coming back from that."

"That's not true mom. Jamaal loves me and I love him too, and that's why I let him claim me."

"Love? Honey you don't put love and a demon in one sentence. Those filthy creatures know nothing about love. That boy will control you and all of us."

"I am a King. No one can control me." Felix retaliated.

"Jamaal is also a King and a demon to top it. Do you have any idea of how much powerful he is now? That boy could literally rip you apart by just using his mind, without even lifting a finger. Your stupid speed wouldn't even stand a chance. Now imagine the whole entire tribe of demons. Maybe your Jamaal is not like that but their Queen, Jamaal's mother is as vicious as they can be. I know that woman very well and I'm warning you son."

"It's been more than twenty years mom. They have changed."

"You trust too much. Your gullibility will be the end of you, me and everyone back home."

Felix knew that the demons were the most evil and vicious creatures out there. If they wanted, they could in all literal sense wipe out his entire tribe with their demonic cultivation, but Felix loved Jamaal, he trusted Jamaal and he risked it all to spend his entire life with Jamaal.

"How do you feel?" Haiden was seated on his bed with Kevin lying on his lap.

"Nervous." Kevin answered and Haiden softly stroke his hair. "Everyone already knows that we're close so I doubt they'll be surprised."

"I'm not talking about that, I mean this whole bond thing. There's still a day before the full moon ends. Has there been any pull or something again?"

"No, nothing." He said sitting up. "I've already masked my scent so even if that person is here I won't know."

"Doesn't that only prevent the other person from smelling your scent, not the other way?"

"I don't know honestly. Fiona wasn't exactly specific and sure herself."

"So, what will happen when you meet the person?" They have been both trying to avoid this topic but they knew sooner or later they had to discuss it.
