Dario, Rico, Nick and another friend of theirs, Keenan arrived at Beausoleil that morning. Haiden had called Dario and asked him to bring the 'guy' Kevin was mated with. Dario didn't know whether Kevin had figured out that the rejection was informal or not, and he didn't know what to hope for. Nonetheless, he just wanted to see his mate.

Haiden shoulder bumped the three before stopping in front of Keenan, "You must be the guy." Dario had informed Keenan about everything. He was going to act as Kevin's mate.

"Uhm yeah. I'm Keenan." He extended his hand for a handshake.

"Haiden. I'm Kevin's boyfriend." He shook his hand. "Kevin is inside. I will leave you two to talk." He pointed at their bedroom then asked the three, "Wanna catch up?"

"I'll join you guys later. I need to talk to Keenan first."

"Alright." The three left the house and walked out. The minute Haiden disappeared from the room, Dario didn't even throw a gander at Keenan. He dashed to the room where Kevin's scent was coming from.

"Kevin?"

Kevin was asleep but the minute Dario got in, he woke up and sobbered up like he had been awake the entire time. Dario's sandalwood scent sent shivers down his spine, yet it also eased him up immediately.

"Hey." Dario sat down on the bed, next to Kevin. "You don't seem too well."

"Maybe if you had told me that the rejection wasn't formal, I wouldn't be like this." Kevin blurted.

"You know?"

"You made a fool out of me Dario."

"But I didn't do anything." He shrugged.

"Precisely! You did nothing. You should've told me that was not how you reject a werewolf."

"But that would be me signing my own death warrant."

"Well, guess what? You just signed it now because I, Kevin Hansel under the watch of the Moon Goddess reject you Dario De Villiers as my mate." He spat out every word.

Kevin knew the bond was getting stronger so he didn't want to give Dario any chance to brainwash him into not rejecting him. Kevin also understood that none of what was happening was Dario's fault, that he was also not given any choice into choosing his mate whatsoever. But still, he needed to do what needed to be done.

Felix, his mother, Jamaal and the rest of the board members of the Beauchamp were holding a meeting in regards to the merge and other related affairs.

"I thought this was supposed to be a board meeting. What is he doing here?" Asked Borris who was a member of the board and also Felix's only uncle. Everyone turned to look at the new couple like they've been biting the dust to ask that question too.

"I suggest you get used to how things are presently in light of the fact that they will stay like this for however long I am still your King." Felix retorted.

"But I don't remember us giving you a go heard in him joining the board." Borris struck again.

"Uncle Borris, not to affront you in any way but I don't think I, the King of Beauchamp need authorisation from you or anyone on whether my boyfriend will join the board or not. Jamaal is my Parabatai and we're bonded for eternity. The sooner you acknowledge him, the better it will be for everyone." Felix said loud and clear, however, Boris was prepared to contend.

Unfortunately, his contention was cut short by Janette. "Greetings my beloved Beauchamps." Janette loved seeking attention, so nobody was surprised when she made a grand entrance at a board meeting she was not even invited in.
