"This is a strange things to celebrate your first birthday" Klaus Baudelaire says, chucking after his comment, looking at the little baby in front of them.

Y/n chuckled to herself/himself, knowing that they were finally at peace to be able to laugh.

"Should we tell her about the you had in a submarine?" Klaus asks

"Or the one you had in a jail cell?" Violet asks, making everyone laugh

" What about the one Y/n had in the Lumbermill" Sunny chimes in which adds smiles and laughter. Y/n smiles as well but deep inside they felt something off.

Y/n's parents had died in a fire almost three years ago....and on her/his birthday. A day s/he used to love turned horrible after that event. Y/n had tried to hide the pain of that sorrowful day being mentioned but Violet saw through it almost immediately.

Y/n excused herself/himself from the table shortly after, Violet got up to follow them.

"Y/n are you ok? You seemed a little off back there" Violet asked y/n in a concerned tone.

"It's just, whenever I think back on my life before all of this, it makes me miss my parents even more" Y/n says, looking up at the brown haired girl.

"Well, I know how that feels. I mean, Klaus, Sunny and I miss our parents every day but we just had to except that they're in a better place" Violet says sending Y/n a reassuring smile, it grows as Y/n pulls her into a hug. A hug which they wished would last forever.

Deep down Y/n knew that s/he had to accept that her parents were gone. S/he didn't have a choice.

But being around Violet made that acceptance a lot better.
