Chapter 15: Date

"Have you told your sister about your whereabouts?" It's been three days Cameron's been stuck in the bed in my infirmary.

"Yeah, I told her I was gone for a few days" he hissed when I put too much pressure on his shoulder wound. "Sorry" I cringed.

"So how did you do it?" Cam asked.

"Do what?"

"Fix up my wound" he motioned to his injuries. "You've got a hospital in your house and blood and gunshot wounds don't frighten you, and you patched it up pretty good so?"

"Lets just say my brothers are involved in this kind of stuff too" I said.

"What kind of stuff?" Cameron raised a brow at me. "Gangs" I answered.

"What makes you so sure I'm involved in a gang?" He asked.

"I figured that much out the other day at the cafe. Matching tattoos, the expensive suits, armoured SUVs and you were all carrying firearm" I concluded.

"Wow, smart girl" Cameron complimented. He seemed suddenly hostile and tense, kind of like he was expecting something had to happen.

"Which gang?" I asked.

"The Black serpents" he said. "And you?" He asked.

"Yeah, the Italian mafia" I answered. "It's kinda being run by my family" I said.

"You're pretty high up then" he smirked at me. "Yeah, how high up are you?"

"I'm the leader" he answered.  Not having much left to say to him I gave a small smile and excused myself to clean up in the kitchen.

While doing the dishes there was a knock on the door and quickly turned off the faucet and dried my hands in a kitchen towel before opening the door. Lexi didn't wait for me to invite her in and pushed pass me nearly knocking me over in the process.

"Okaaay what's wrong?"

"I am in a big, major, shit load of trouble" she sighed. Silent rear ran down her face and she tried to hide them by wiping them away.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I'm pregnant" she whispered as if it was the first time she's hearing it herself.

"How the hell did that happen and do you know who the father is?" I sighed and tried to comfort her.

"Yes. His name is Craig, he's in Cam's gang and I'm not allowed to date guys in the gang let alone have sex with them and get preggos and if Cam finds out he's going to kill him and maybe our baby and the my baby is going to grow up without us and he's probably going to get raised by Nan who might turn him into a perv and then my baby's going to fall depressed and commit suicide and I don't know what to do?" She sobbed uncontrollably.

"Okay, but it's your baby why so upset?"

"I'm still in college and I told Craig about it and he doesn't want the baby, he said I was just a cheap fling and he doesn't want a relationship let alone a baby"

"Don't worry, I'll make sure he supports your child" we both gasped and my eyes met Cameron's.

"What are you doing here?!" Lexi screeched sadness long gone and she was now filled with anger.

"He was shot and couldn't go home and ended up here" I smiled nervously waiting for Lexi to explode, but it never came.

"Why the fuck didn't you come home. I was waiting for you and you didn't turn up and Nan was about to have heart attack and I-I-" Cameron slapped his hand over her mouth stopping her from bambling any further.

"It's fine, I'm fine" Cameron hugged her.

I slowly backed out of the the living room and went to finish the dishes, giving the twins some space. "You think you could get away so easily?"

"Get away from what?" I asked dumbly staring up at Cameron.

"I still didn't get to thank you" he smirked. "Go on a date with me"

"I thought I was gonna get a thank you" I said with furrowed brows.

"This is me thanking you" his smirk widens "Or we could just skip dinner and have a little fun" he said stepping into my personal space.

"Yeah and you bleed out and die" I said looking at the wound on his shoulder and abdomen.

"Tell you what, few of the guys from the gang are going to a club downtown, come with me?" He asked.

"Yeah that sounds great" I sighed.

"Will I meet you there or are you gonna pick me up?" I asked playing with my hair a bit.

"I'll pick you up"
