WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?

_________

"OI, BAKUGOU!" SHE CALLED AS HE EXITED THE SCHOOL BUILDING AND ADVANCED TOWARDS THE DORMS. "Bakugou," she said, panting and her hands on her knees.

"What do you want, fucking extra?"

"Man, you sure walk fast." she commented between pants. "You were yelling at everyone today."

He clicked his tongue, looked away and plunged his hands in his pockets. "So what?"

"And you were even avoiding me." she said, moving to meet his gaze. "So?" he yelled his question, "You're not my girlfriend. You're not supposed to care. You're not even a friend."

"That doesn't mean I can't be."

He swatted her hand away that was clinging onto the sleeve of his jacket, "You know what? I don't care." And he left, practically blowing steam from his ears. Dumbfounded and with wide eyes, all she could say was,

"Oh."

She couldn't concentrate on that stupid Japanese Literature question. She leaned back on her chair, her head thrown back. She couldn't get Bakugou out of her head and she kept questioning herself if she did something wrong. She had played the day in her head again and again looking for one of her mistakes to resurface. The laugh that crawled up her dry throat escaped her before she could even think about holding it back.

Effy laughed at how stupid she was. So very stupid. She shouldn't have kissed Bakugou back then. In acts like these, she was bound to fall for someone at some point and even she knew that. Sighing, she got up from her place on the chair and decided to play some music. She brought out that mp3 player she hadn't touched in a while and went on to untangle her earphones. Once the knots were combed out of her earphones, she proceeded to play the music. A nostalgic feeling washed over her as she took in the lyrics.

I knew it was a bad idea

Getting involved with a side of romance

But maybe it's what I deserve

Getting attached with my match

And it hurts so bad

Another sigh escaped her lips and she plopped down on her bed. She buried her head in the pillow, her hand under it.

Oh, but when I saw you there

I thought you'd be fine

But easy to leave

I knew it was a bad idea
