6 days later

 Toni's POV

It was Saturday evening. Cheryl and I just got back from our school supplies shopping. We were going to school in two days so I decided to take Cheryl to a cute little date tomorrow. There was this very special place that I enjoyed going as a kid and I was sure that Cheryl would love it.

"Babe, I'm taking you out tomorrow evening. Don't plan anything."

"Fuck, TT. I totally forgot about my mother. What are we going to do? We can't pretend forever." She looked at me with watery eyes and after holding a small pause she continued. "You can't  even imagine what she'll do to me. I need to avoid her as much as possible but for how long can we remain unnoticed? We don't even have time to figure something out! She's coming tomorrow." She put her head on my shoulder and whimpered.

"We'll figure something out I promise. For tomorrow don't worry, I'm taking you out anyway." I wiped that single tear that rolled down her cheek. "We got a hard day tomorrow and your eyes are heavy. Let's go lay down." Both of us were exhausted so it didn't take us long to fall asleep. Sometimes late at nigh Cheryl would do some random moves and mutter something. I was sure that those were nightmares but for some reason she could hold herself from completely waking up or screaming. I decided not to talk about that until Cheryl brings that up by herself. But right now we had a bigger problem called Penelope Blossom. If she suspected something she would do everything to break me and Cheryl apart. I had no idea what was I supposed to do but I knew for sure that nothing is going to tear me apart from my girl.

The next day I woke up because of water splashes. Apparently Cheryl was taking her shower so I had 15 minutes to get ready. When we were ready I took her to Pop's for a breakfast and when we were full I drove to that special place. Cheryl didn't know that we have picnic supplies in her car trunk. We were driving for half an hour which is really long for a small town like Riverdale.

"Are you going to kidnap and kill me?" Cheryl giggled.

"I already did." I smirked and took the next exit because we were already there. I parked the car and helped  Cheryl to get out of the car.

"Where are we, babe? What kind of slum area is this?"

"No questions. Just trust me." I opened the trunk and took out an old fashioned picnic bag. I brought her to the Sweetwater swimming hole but we weren't going to enter the water. TBH I was unsure if I could save Cheryl somewhere else than their pool so this could be dangerous. There was a big rock on the top of the swimming hole where you could sit. The view was great. I helped Cheryl climbing the rock and we set our picnic blanket. We didn't have much food, just some fruits and sparkling strawberry lemonade. We sat down without saying anything. Each of us had something else in their mind. "Cher, this is a very special place for me. As a kid my mother and I used to come here and watch the views. We used to talk a lot about different stuff, about galaxy, how did humans come into existence or about books. I know that might sound boring but it was so interesting back then. She could make it interesting." Cheryl was already holding me in her arms when I first started talking and with time she was pulling me closer and closer. When I was done talking I felt that my eyes were full. I lost the control and shed into tears. This was my first time crying in front of Cheryl. She was comforting me in such a cute way. It almost looked like she was doing that for the first time. We laughed and talked until it was nearly midnight. With each other we forgot all our problems and enjoyed our life. Forgetting about Penelope coming home was a huge mistake and when we came into realization that she might suspect something it was too late. We got home at 11:40 and she was still awake. Cheryl and I were pretty good at acting so we pretended were just friends. Next morning was our first day of junior year so we were supposed to wake up really early. I made sure that Cheryl is laying in her bed, gave her a good night kiss and got to my room. We couldn't sleep together because of Penelope Blossom but for how long could we pretend?

The next day

The school day started at 8:10. Gladly Riverdale was a small town so we got to school in a few minutes. I was calmly enjoying my sleep when an angel kissed my lips. I wanted to sleep too much and without even realizing I buried my face into the pillow getting away from the kiss. That was a wrong thing to do because a few moments later I was attacked by Cheryl who was tickling me to death. I wanted to stay in my warm bed for the rest of my life but I couldn't handle the tickle anymore so I had to get up. My eyes felt heavy and I couldn't properly open them but I somehow saw that Cheryl was ready. She looked amazing in her red collared mini dress. I still couldn't open my eyes properly but I found Cheryl's lips and kissed her back.

"I love making out with you, TT, but if we continue going this slow were going to be late."

"Uhh.. What time is it tho? and for how long have you been awake?"

"Its 7 and I woke up at  5:30 or so. Believe me babe you won't be late as long us were under the same roof." She gave me one last kiss and got out of the room. When I was ready and got downstairs there was a full breakfast ready. In Rochester I didn't really pay attention to my breakfasts. I would grab an apple or a pop tart or I would not have breakfast at all. Back in Rochester we had a proper breakfast only on weekends. Here Cheryl made me eat a full meal and when I was done we headed to school. Riverdale high was good. I knew pretty much everyone and my girlfriend is the HBIC and student body president. I mean what could possibly  go wrong?! Overall it was a usual school with usual subjects and teachers. The highlight of the day were the vixen auditions. I had mine before all the girls did and all the inner circle (as Cheryl liked to call Josie, Betty and Veronica.) were watching. No one was doubting that I'm a new member of Riverdale high's cheerleading team. TBH I knew I was privileged but I also knew that I did a great job. I don't think I ever performed so good.  After school I had a serpent meetup so I left the school with Fangs. At that point I had a plan of how to deal with Penelope but I needed to talk to my dad. I talked to him pretty often, once a day at least. He knew that I liked Cheryl but no details and now I needed his help. I waited till its past 6pm so he wasn't that busy and called him.

"Hey, dad! you doing fine?"

"Hi! Pretty good, what about you?"

"I mean I had my first day at school today and it was good. Also the cheerleading audition was great." I held a pause to present him the situation the best way I can. "But there is something I need help with. Dad, you know about Cheryl Blossom, right? So it seems very serious to me. I really really like her and its not the way I liked other girls or guys. She's different and I'm seriously into her. Her mother is very conservative and homophobic and she's very cruel to Cheryl. She abuses her mentally and physically and if she suspects that Cheryl is in a relationship with me she'll do something horrible. Dad, that woman is capable of doing horrible things and I'm worried about Cheryl. We cannot pretend that we are not in a relationship all the time. So I'm thinking there should be a way to keep her away from her mother. "

"Well, baby I'm sorry that you both have to go through this and if you value her and she is important to you the thing you need to do is to grab her and run away as soon as possible. Toni, I don't know if you are aware about how Cheryl's dad killed his own son. That family is extremely dangerous and if you know Penelope is capable of doing something bad to your girlfriend you should make sure she's safe. Your grandfather still lives in Southside. Ill make him a call but for now his trailer is big enough for you and Cheryl. Toni, I hope you understand that you are going to be in danger."

"Yeah, I do. Thanks a lot, dad. And what about your agreement? Penelope is heartless but smart, she will understand that I have something to do with her daughter running away. That would be horrible for your business."

"I prioritize your  and Cheryl's health and happiness over pieces of paper. Also we have signed the majority so Penelope won't cancel everything at the last moment."

"I'm so grateful, dad. I love you and I miss you."

"Love you too, baby. I have to go but hopefully Ill make it to Riverdale in the next week or so. Giving you a tight hug. Bye!"

"Byee!" When we were done talking I knew exactly what I needed to do.
