the town

Toni's POV

Cheryl sat right next to Veronica and I sat on the backseat. Cheryl and Veronica hugged. Then Veronica turned to me.

"Hey there! I'm Veronica Lodge but you can call me Ronnie. You are the Topaz kid I suppose." She said giggling. That made Cheryl smirk and then all of us started laughing. After a small pause I could finally introduce myself.

"Yeah, you are right hehe. Toni actually, nice to meet you. So where we going?"

"My mumsy made a few phone calls so Mrs. Bell will open the school for us. We will show you your new school . Riverdale high, Veronica!" Cheryl replied. Veronica smirked and we drove away. Thornhill was on the outskirts of Riverdale but the town was small so 15 minutes later we were near a big building. 

"Welcome to Riverdale high, dear." Elderly woman greeted me. "Cheryl Blossom, Veronica Lodge! Nice to meet you again. You guys can show our new student the school." She added while looking at the girls. "By the way I'm Mrs. Bell, school receptionist." She finally introduced herself.

"Thanks. That's really nice of you. I'm Toni Topaz." I smiled at her and then looked at girls and said. "Let's go, guys." First of all they showed me the cafeteria and the student lounge. Then principal's office and dressing rooms. We were about to enter the school gym when Cheryl announced.

"Topaz, we are going to enter the gym. It's a holy place for every River Vixen." She opened the door and we stepped into the high school gym. "Here the vixens do their trainings. Every year a lot of girls try their luck here but most of them get their hopes crushed. By the way if you want you can try out this year. I'm pretty sure you won't get in but try that out." Cheryl giggled. Veronica joined the conversation.

"You are such a bitch, Cheryl Blossom. She's joking, Toni. Don't take it serious. I remember how I joined vixens. Remember, Cheryl? How I beat your ass? " Veronica teased Cheryl. "Wanna hear the story, Toni?" Without waiting for my response Veronica continued the story. When she finished telling I responded.

"There are people who can beat Cheryl Blossom's ass?" 

"OH MY GOD! You both are so annoying!" Cheryl chuckled. "Actually that was once. I don't know why Veronica doesn't tell you about millions of times she got her ass beaten. You need to know those. Now get in the car." Our mood was good. Cheryl was telling her stories of beating Veronica's ass as we were driving to Pickens park. There was nothing interesting to do in the park and we were hungry so the girls decided to show me the biggest treasure of Riverdale. In a few minutes we were near bright neon lights of Pop's. Veronica explained that Pop's is a legendary place for everyone from Riverdale. Pop's Chocklit shoppe was established decades ago. Everything interesting in the town was happening at Pop's. When we entered the diner the girls headed to their usual booth so I followed them. Cheryl ordered a double strawberry milkshake and cheese fries. Veronica got onion rings and black forest milkshake. I decided to order chocolate milkshake  with chicken nuggets. We were having a fun time talking about everything on the world. Veronica could keep me and Cheryl from having another argument. When Cheryl left to the restroom Veronica opened up with me.

"Honestly, Toni I'm very happy that your here. You are a great person and I enjoy spending time with you guys but not only because of that. I'm happy that there will be someone with Cheryl. She was getting really drunk lately which means her mother's abuse got stronger. I have no idea what she can do this time, she's very unpredictable..." 

"What do you mean this time? What did she do before?" I was curious.

"Well, Cheryl tried to take her own live. She was in a horrible place. I hope that will never happen again."
