Budding Love

After a big seminar for medical students held at the leading hospital known as Aslan Hospital, Sharon immediately headed to the parking lot and told her personal driver, Mr. Kang, to take her home.

A heavy rain, traffic, people with different colored umbrellas, or wearing raincoats, and even those waiting in the waiting shed for the rain to stop are what Sharon sees through the window of her metallic purple Mercedes Benz while her head was leaning against it. But what really catches her attention is a girl, whose hair color was blonde, soaking in the rain while lying unconscious on the roadside.

Sharon hurriedly got out of the car when she saw the face of the blonde-haired girl. It was Seyoung, she passed out from being too drunk.

"Sharon, you shouldn't get out of the car," Mr. Kang scolded, holding two umbrellas, for him and Sharon. His face showed concern upon seeing the blonde's condition.

"Mr. Kang, please take this girl to the car," Sharon said, and took the umbrellas from Mr. Kang, so that he can take Seyoung to the car conveniently.

Without a second thought, Mr. Kang carried Seyoung in his arms with extra care, gently putting her in the backseat of Sharon's car. Then he took the umbrellas from Sharon so that the young lady wouldn't have any trouble getting into the car.

Noticing that Seyoung's lips were trembling and almost turning purple, Sharon didn't hesitate to hug the latter, to give her body warmth. Mr. Kang, on the other hand, wrapped the blanket around them, making sure that both of them were covered.

"Sharon, do you know her?" Mr. Kang asked, turning off the car's A/C before he drove off.

"Mr. Kang, do you remember the girl with shoulder-length blonde hair I told you about recently?" Sharon asked back, wiping Seyoung's blonde hair.

Mr. Kang glanced at Sharon in surprise. "Sharon, don't tell me she's that girl. The girl who saved your life from those three unknown men."

"Yes, she is." Sharon smiled as she remembered how Seyoung had saved her that day.

"But where did you really go that day?" Mr. Kang inquired.

"At More & More Bookstore," Sharon answered. "I'm actually still looking for Panthera's first printed book."

Mr. Kang sighed, he knew how much Sharon wanted to have that book, but of course, he still couldn't help but worry, knowing how weak Sharon's heart was. "Sharon, I told you before that I would look for that book, didn't I? Give me some time, I'm sure I'll find one, and please, don't repeat what you did. Look what happened to you that day, until now you still don't tell your parents that thing. Also, you know how dangerous that place is, don't you?" He glanced in the rear view mirror to check Sharon, and saw her over the moon as she gazed lovingly at Seyoung. He sighed again, now with so much apprehension.

"I'm just looking for the right time, Mr. Kang. And yes, I'm aware that place is dangerous, but when I saw their post on social media that they still had that book, I couldn't stop my desire to go there to buy that book. But sadly, I was told that someone else had already gotten that book," Sharon explained as she was mesmerized by Seyoung's face. "She really resembles a baby cub." She giggled but it turned into a frown when she smelled the blonde, who stink of booze.

"Sweetie, why are you so wet? What happened, and who is that girl?"

Sharon stopped in her tracks when she heard her mother, who was sitting on the couch next to her father. Mr. Kang, on the other hand, just went straight to Sharon's bedroom because that's what the latter told him before they entered the house―put Seyoung first before anyone else. Their house maids and even the head house-maid were also surprised at what they witnessed, especially one of the three young maids named Kim Minji.
