The Detention Chamber was a room that both Sirius Black and James Potter knew very much. They spent more time there than in any other area of the castle. For many years, they held a competition of who could get detention earlier; the winner was mostly Sirius Black because even though James didn't have a problem with getting into mischief, he liked to plan out the pranks thoroughly meanwhile, Sirius acted on impulse.
When Sirius and James stepped in the chamber, Minerva McGonagall's lips pressed together in a thin line and she narrowed her eyes at the two students. She was tapping her black boots on the floor in stress.
"Minnie, darling" Sirius sang with a grin on his face.
McGonagall shut her eyes when she heard the enthusiasm in the boy's voice, and she already knew, her evening will be long and tiring.
"Potter, Black" she nodded in their direction and waved at two seats, which were the farthest from each other. "Take a seat."
James and Sirius both made their way to their assigned desks and sat down. James leaned back, trying to balance his chair in one leg, while Sirius looked at Professor McGonagall with a dreamy expression.
"I sent you letters over the summer," he said with a smooth tone in his voice. "Didn't get an answer to any of them." he pouted.
"Black" the professor started with a sigh. "I got exactly eighty-seven letters from you, every one of them was highly inappropriate. I was not interested in what you ate for every meal of the day. Nor did I want to read about the worst haircut of your life. I did not care for your reviews of a band called "The Rolling Stones" either."
