Lilac.
I wonder what lilac smells like.
And if rain has a taste.
I wonder if the sun chooses where it shines.
If God ( or Gods, or whatever deity)
Peers down on this world
And thinks
They could use a little bit of light today.
I wonder if two trains passing
Are old friends who one day hope to
Cross paths again.
If I spilled watercolors on this page,
Would the sunset do the same?
I wonder if a flower knows that it is dying, and if the leaves of a tree enjoy their fall to the earth.
I wonder what a caterpillar would look like with glasses, and if a Red Rail was as mysterious in life as it is in death.
My curiosity gets me in trouble constantly,
But do you ever just sit and wonder about it all?
Because I want to know
What a lilac smells like.
