Samantha sat quietly, listening to Molly drone on about one of her many, somewhat strange, dreams. "I swear Lily! No girls, just seven loud boys! I mean I would be happy with any children but seven boys, I don't know if I could do that, especially since I've always wanted a little girl! Oh well it was just a silly dream...''. That's about the only part of the conversation Samantha picked up on, the girl had a lot on her mind, nothing good, but those thoughts were replaced with image of a middle-aged Molly chasing around seven tiny boys, she laughed hollowly at it. "Speaking of boys.. How's Arthur doing with Bill? I couldn't imagine being away from your son for a whole year!" Lily said. "Oh hes doing great, I am happy to be able to help Dumbledore though.. The best part I think is I get to be in my old dorm! I missed it." Molly laughed. "Correction, its OUR dorm!" Alice giggled.
She had a brief moment of silence, which was replaced when suddenly the door on her compartment bursted open and in came a disheveled looking Sirius Black. "The hell Black! What are you doing?" Samantha asked looking at the boy as he slide under her seat. "Well I may or may not of challenged Prongs to a game of hide and go seek, turns out he takes it very seriously. I've got 10 galleons on winning this game!" He whispered. "Well you certainty cant stay here, I don't want to condone this!" Lily said looking down on the sweaty boy, "Merlin, did you run a marathon or something?". "Haha, very funny Evans, no, that boy is faster than he looks. Look if you let me hide here ill owe you, deal?" Sirius said looking up at Lily with puppy dog eyes.
Lily looked out into the corridor and quickly found a certain messy haired boy with glasses. "I want 5 galleons and for you to be in our debt for the first semester." Lily said giving him a smug look, Molly began to snicker beside her while Sam kept her gaze on the corridor, to which James was hastily making his way up. "You got to be joking Evans." Sirius said giving her a unamused look.
"Is that a no? I guess James is about to be 10 galleons richer." she said smugly as she turned to open the compartment door. "Fine! Merlin, fine! But only because I want to rub this win in James's face." He said looking like a child who was just scolded. Sam quickly grabbed her bags on shoved them under her seat to hide him, 'accidently' hitting him in his face. "Really?" he whispered shouted at the girl, who gave him a pout. She never had much sympathy for the boys who named them selves the 'Mauraders', then again she knew why they caused so much trouble, sometimes being good is boring. Samantha herself had always had short lived rivals with the boys, it kept them both interested and her friends on edge. She had always wondered how Lily seemed too be so good all the time.
She tucked the bags in closer to the boy and returned to her seat, again looking out the window at the passing scenery. No more then a minute later a smirk wearing James Potter bursted into her compartment. "Hello Ladies." He said, leaning on the door of their compartment "Lily, funny seeing you here, you look lovely as always!" He chimed, giving Lily a flirty grin. "What do you want Potter?" Lily asked not even looking up from her copy of ''Fantastic Beasts: and Where To Find Them". James smile dropped in the slightest, "Always playing hard to get Evans! Just wondering if you have decided to take me up on my offer?". "I think you already know the answer." She said finally looking up at him. "The only answer I know is yes, I guess I'll see you at 8?" he said winking at her.
At his comment Alice, Molly and Sam bursted out laughing, it only made it worse when Lily threw her book at him which he quickly dunked under. "See you tonight Evans!" James yelled running out of the compartment, completely forgetting of his task of finding Sirius. "Dear god Lily, just date the poor bloke already. Hes going to go insane." Sam joked. "Where's the fun in that?" the girls heard a loud booming laugh, coming from none other than Sirius. "Damn Evans! I never knew you got violent, but I must say I'm impressed!" he quickly crawled out from the seats and sat himself beside Samantha.
Sirius had decided to sit with the girls for a bit longer, or until James found him. He had been caught up in lively conversation with Molly, Lily was in her own world reading, and Sam began to let her mind wander as Alice braided her hair, she hadn't realized but almost 20 minutes had passed. Just as Sam began to fall deeper into her thoughts, she was interrupted by another man entering the compartment.
"Padfoot, there you are! James thought you jumped off the train or something, hes been sulking for a bit. Wormtail even went and asked a few Ravenclaws if they saw you." he suddenly shifted his attention to the girls "Lily, nice to see you again! Molly, dear hello!" he turned and hugged both girls, he had always been closer to them. "Riteen, have you given up yet? I mean I really expected more from you last year, is that your way of telling us you forfeit?" He gave her his signature cocky grin. It seemed the games had already begun, luckily she knew to suspect something.
Sam mocked his look and simply responded "In your dreams, Lupin. Last years weren't weak because I was giving up, it was because someone decided to take it too far and I ended up with a broken arm.". The boy looked away slightly embarrassed at the thought. Last year James had the bright idea to rig the astronomy tower for his biggest prank of the year, his bright idea was spilling a bucket of syrup on Sam and then feathers, 'Do it the Muggle way!' he had said, only James didn't know much about muggles.. Clearly he didn't think it through and instead of the syrup getting all over Sam, it instead got on her friend Severus, causing Sam to back away from surprise and almost slip of the tower, in the process she ended up breaking her left arm.
Sirius began to giggle at his flustered friend, "Aw Moony, are you blushing?". Lily began to shake her head as if she was disappointed, but what did she expect? They were the Mauraders. "C'mon Padfoot, Prongs' gave up, come back and sit with us." Remus said slightly annoyed. Sirius got up and bid goodbye to the girls, still giving Remus a hard time about getting flustered.
Sam began to get bored again and decided it was finally time to get back at the boys. She started to stare at Lily with a mischievous grin. "No." Lily said not even looking at Sam. "You don't even know what I am going to ask!" She retorted. "Sammi, I have known you since we were 11, I know when your about to do something stupid, I'm not helping.". "All I need is for you to be a distraction! C'mon Lil, Marlene isn't here so I need you!"
"Three galleons." She said smirking. "Deal, Molly can you help?" Sam said looking at her friend. "I will for four galleons." she said with a beaming smile. "You two are going two make me broke, fine! I need you two to get the four idiots out and away from their compartment, its high time for some revenge.".
