Becoming A Hunter (Killua X Male Reader OC)

exam phase 2

Gon put a hand on Killua's shoulder. "C'mon, we'll figure that out later. We need to get to the end off the forest before it's to late". Killua was still looking right into my eyes. Did I see fear in them?

He's not this angry because I'm holding something back, but he angry because he is afraid that he might be right. I don't blame him tho..

Killua let out a defeated sigh and let go of me. As he walked away, he spoke up again. "This is not the end of it"

I slowly stood and adjusted my collar so it was normal again. Killua ran towards the end of the forest as Gon and I ran after him.

"What happened just now", Gon started, "what did Killua mean by what he said. A.. and how were you able to defeat someone whilest sitting on a rock?". Gon kept blurting out questions. "You'll find out when the time is right. All that I am concerned with right now is that Killua is thinking of me as a threat but.. I've been alone for a long time you see. And you seem like really interesting people.. y.. you don't think I'm a threat to you, do you?", I asked Gon. I meant what I said. Those two are the first people I found interresting after so many lonesome years.. I just don't want them to find anything out about me which they later regret. So.. I just have to keep quiet for now untill I know they are ready..

A smile suddenly appeared on Gon's face. "Ofcourse not you silly, you haven't given me any reason to".

"Good afternoon and welcome to phase two off the Hunters exame", the next examinor started. After we cleared the forest, we were standing in front of a huge building. "We ask off you to make groups off 5. After I'm done talking, you can team up with whomever you prefer. each group will enter the building from a different entrance. Inside the building, there will be 5 tests which you will have to do. Each test requires one individual. 1 person can complete only 1 test and cannot do any other test in this building. If 1 off you fails to complete their test, all 5 of you will fail the Hunters exame". People suddenly realized what the examinor had said. Do we really have to rely on other people so we can pass this exame? How is that fair? "You've got three hours to complete the 5 stages. If you're not at the other end of the building by then, we will continue this exame without you. As for the teams. Come to me when you have a group and I will guide you to an entrance".
I quickly looked around to see if there was anyone who wanted to joins teams with me. In an instand I noticed that there were 48 people left. What will happen to the last three? Will they be able to do phase to or will they be disqualified? It doesn't matter, I have to find a team as quickly as possib..

"Hey Hunter! Do you want to join our team?", Gon shouted my way. A small smile appeared on my face. "Gon don't ask him!", Killua said to Gon. Gon gave Killua almost a deathglare before looking back at me while smiling again. I walked towards them. "Alright then, I can agree to that. Don't we need two more?". "Don't worry, I've got that covered too", Gon said, "this is kurapika and leorio". I smiled there way and rubbed the back of my head. I was a bit embarrassed I didn't notice them before. "H.. hi, nice to meet ya!", I said back. "Nice to meet you too", Kurapika said. "Great, another kid. That will for sure increase our chances of winning..", leorio said sarcasticly. Gon started laughing nervously. "Don't take him all to serious. We're glad you're on our team, right guys!"

We walked towards the examinor who showed us the entrance. "The thre hours already started when I finished talking, so you've got 2 hour 54 minutes and 36 seconds left. I wish you goodluck. The door closed behind us and the lights suddenly turned on. All 5 of us were looking around to see where we were. A man was sitting in front off a door on the other side off the room with a cup off tea. "We're gonna play a game of your choosing. Only 1 can come foreward and both parties have to agree with the game before it can start. The rules will be an understanding between both parties. So with that said, whats your game".

Killua got angry with the man who thought this was some sort of game, as he wanted to walk foreward. Gon stopped him. "Remember, if you take on his challange right now, you won't be off any help to every other test", Gon said. I walked towards the wall and sad down.fiddling with my thumbs waiting for them fo make a decision.

It's easy, really. They knew who was going to pick who to be in their team. This has probably all been planned out by the examinors. If I had to make a guest, the first test has been already given to us. We are able to put our weakest link first so they won't lose a battle later on. If they asked me who had to go first I would say Leorio. To me he seems like he doesn't know what he's doing. But.. I'll let them figure it out by them selfs.

"I don't know what to do here but why does he get to just sit against a wall and do nothing?! We are supposed to be a team remember?", Killua shouted at the group. "I have to agree with Killua on this one guys", Leorio said. "Guys stop it! This is not heloing at all", Kurapika started, "let's stop focussing our attention at Hunter and more at the so called game we are about to play. Hunter, you've got any suggestions?".

I looked up and looked at Kurapika. "Find out who's the weakest link in our group and play a game they can't loose. That way you'll assure atleast 1 victory, and maybe even 2", I replied. "Alright, that sound pretty logical. How do you suppose we find out who the weakest link is?", she asked. "There isn't really anything to figure out is there. It's Leorio. But now hard feelings ofcourse". "Hey! What makes you say that!", Leorio started, "for all I know, it's you whos the weakest link. Why don't you do this challange then!".

I sighed wanting to avoid an argument.

"Alright.. I'll go then"
