Louis POV
I had been sick the past few days, taking one last day at home to compose myself. Harry had left early this morning to head to the studio as he was working on his second album, which I was super proud of him for.
As I got up that morning, I noticed that it was quite dark outside, considering it was about 10 am. I turned the television on as I waited for my tea to finish. They said that there is a possibility of a thunderstorm and I just started to get nervous. Not sure why, but thunderstorms always seem to scare the shit of out of me and I'd usually have a panic attack if I was alone. I've always been afraid of them, but when Harry was here, it was fine. I was pulled out of my thoughts from the phone ringing.
"Hello?" I said, not even looking at who was calling.
"Oh good Lou you are awake." It was Harry and I smiled.
"Yes I'm awake. It's 10 am!" He chuckled.
"Okay, okay whatever. Liam is going to be stopping by. He's borrowing something. Should be over around 11, so I thought I'd call and make sure you were awake and be prepared to see him." He said.
"Thanks for letting me know. I would have been awake anyways." I rolled my eyes. "Did you see the weather report?"
"Uh no, why? Looks like rain."
"There's a chance of a thunderstorm" I said quietly and it was silent for a minute.
"I'll try to be home before it starts, besides it's only a chance. Ask Liam to stay with you if you want."
"No it's okay. Just try to come home. I'll be fine."
"Lou you know how you get"
"I know, but I'm almost 28 years old. I shouldn't be scared of a fricken thunderstorm."
"Everyone has their fears babe."
"Whatever." I scoffed.
"I've got to go. Should be home in a few hours. Love you!" He emphasized the love you and of course it made me smile like it always does.
"Love you too!" I said hanging up the phone. I took my tea to the living room, changing the channel to hopefully avoid myself freaking out about the storm that may or may not come. I actually ended up falling asleep, and was woken up by a knocking on the door. I rushed to open the door as I realized the time was 11:15. I opened it to see Liam, standing there kind of angry. There was no way I was asking him to stay with me now.
"Geez I thought Harry said he would call you." He said, brushing past me straight to Harry and I's music room. I followed swiftly behind him.
"Nice to see you too mate." I said. "And I was awake when Harry called, but I fell back asleep. I am still getting over an illness you know."
"Yea whatever mate." He said, while he started ruffling through some papers.
"Can I help you find what you are looking for?" I asked.
"Nope!" He said, pulling out one of the papers. "Found it!"
"Want to stay for the day?" I asked, hoping he would stay so I wouldn't be alone. "We could like play video games or watch movies or something like that?"
"Sorry Lou, but I can't today. Got some work in the studio. Maybe another day. Anyway I've got to get going." He said, giving me a quick hug and making his way out the door. I was left alone once again.
It had started to rain about an hour later, so I decided to just read my current book on the couch while softly listening to music. I put on my reading glasses and began to read. I hadn't realized until about 30 minutes later that the storm had started and it began to thunder. It was quiet at first, but it got louder and louder, until one big boom of thunder shook me to my core, causing me to drop my book and lose my place.
I slowly picked up the book in between booms of thunder and placed it on the coffee table, slightly shaking. I was going to call Harry, but assumed he would be driving and I wanted him to focus on the road. After another particularly loud boom, the entire house went dark and I was really scared now.
I took my phone, turned on its flashlight and made my way up to me and Harry's bedroom. I lit the nearby candle and went into bed, pulling my knees to my chest and wrapping a blanket around myself. I stayed like that for a while, until the storm seemed to die down. I relaxed slightly, which was a mistake because after a gust of wind, there was a huge bang coming from downstairs and it sounded like glass broke. I closed the bedroom door and tensed back up again, this time my breathing was becoming irregular. I didn't even notice my phone ringing, but I just ignored it as I was too distraught to answer it.
I was trying hard to catch my breath, but I just couldn't and continued gasping for air, as I heard the front door open. I was shaking and crying, but I just couldn't stop. I needed comfort and hopefully it would be soon.
