Yoongi steadied Spirit as they climbed up the rocky terrain. There were several lose rocks, and they horses were finding it hard to get a stable ground. And the fresh layer of snow from last night only made things harder.

"Easy girl." Yoongi patted Spirit's back, the horse neighing in response.

He sighed and continued thinking about the letter. There was something off about it. Jieun, during her mission, never used the royal seal on her letter, lest they be recognized by unwanted eyes. However, in order to let the recipient to know who wrote the letter, she used a few signature method. The styling of few of her letter were unique. Also, the way she sentenced her words was in a specific patter.

But the letter he recieved were missing a few of those markers were missing. Perhaps it was because she was in a rush. The letter seemed so. Words merging together, and more slanted that usual. But there was still something wrong about it.

"Your Majesty." He heard Taehyung call.

Turning around, he saw the Lord next to his side and with a solemn yet desperate expression. "Your Majesty, please trust me, Prince Jimin would never betray you-"

"-I know, Lord." Yoongi sighed, "And even if he, it might for a reason, or perhaps none at all. Either case, it's... I'll forgive him."

It wasn't okay. Far from it, but then again, if the prince did betray him and break his heart, it was justifiable. He did, afterall, give the prince the permission to break his heart. A thousand times overs, if he wanted so.

"But he won't." Taehyung urged.

Yoongi sighed, and looked away from the prince. A curt nod, that meant he didn't want to continue this conversation any further.

The sky had changed from the crystal blue of winter morning to the dusky red of the evening sun. Yoongi shivered a little as the chilly breeze blew against his body. He noticed the woods was getting deeper and darker. Fog blurring the trees. Their visibilty lowering as they continued walking.

Jimin, mark the trees

Yoongi frowned and shook his head. It was his voice echoing in his mind. But it sounded different. More tensed and alert. He shrugged it off, thinking he was pondering over the situation far too much. But he knew the prince wasn't, so why would he think of it?

Neverthless, he decided it would be better if they were to mark the trees, or they will be walking in circles until the fog dissipated. He ordered the other, who immediately used their swords to draw a small mark on the bark of the trees. The fog started to get deeper. Almost tangible.

Suddenly Taehyung stopped, his eyes shooting upwards. And Namjoon followed suit. Yoongi creased his brows together when the two asked everyone to stop. All of them, got of their horses.

"Don't tie them." Jungkook whispered, "Just in case they need to run."

Jin frowned hearing it, but agreed nonetheless. All the horses were left as they were. And Yoongi noticed how Spirit was behaving slightly agitated. They walked in further. Yoongi keeping his eyes trained upwards for noticing any unusual movements.  It was barely visible, but Yoongi was sure that their was some sort of movement through the fog.
