Warnings: nothing but minor s2 spoilers, like a word of angst

You laid on the couch while your boyfriend rushed about the room, doing this and that and that again and then this because he forget to do it right and then that because he forgot something-

You get the point.

Sometimes you wondered how the two of you even ended up together. Lately he had been too busy to even say a word to you, let alone stutter out a confession like he had when the two of you started dating.

You sighed and let your head loll over the sofa arm, watching Five grab a notepad and scribble something down on it before moving on to check Elliott's machine thing again. You didn't quite know what he was doing. Lila and Diego had headed out to grab some food before you went to the party that night.

At some point, Five felt your eyes on him and turned around slowly. "What?"

You reached out to him, wiggling your fingers, hoping to get a smile to form on his face. It didn't. "You're so busy."

"We're trying to save the world, Y/N, of course I'm busy," he said through gritted teeth. "I'm actually doing something to try and stop it."

The remark made you drop your arms and lower your gaze, and Five instantly felt bad. Dang it. You were the only person that could make him feel guilty with one simple movement.

He went over to you and stiffly took a seat on the couch, still about a foot away from your feet. His gaze stayed straight ahead even as you sat up and shifted closer to him.

You smiled and rested your chin on his shoulder, staring at his eyes. "I need attention," you told him earnestly, your lips quirked up in a grin.

He did his best to keep up his harsh facade, reminding himself over and over again about the impending apocalypse, but it didn't take long for your voice and smile to win out. A smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he leaned back against the back of the couch and said, "Five minutes."

Your smile widened as you snuggled down into his side, your head resting on his shoulder, your legs curled up beside his. You felt his arm rest around your shoulders as he rested his head against yours, the exhaustion you knew he was feeling finally showing.

"You need to get rest," you told him, looking up at his crystal eyes. Your cheeks reddened when you realized they had already been trained on you.

"The world's ending, sweetheart, I can't get rest. I'm the only one that can stop it."

You moved so that you could face him better. "You're not alone, love. You've got me and Diego and Lila and Elliott. We're probably not much compared to you," you added teasingly, "But we're still something. And once we gather the rest of your siblings you'll have even more help."

He swallowed and smiled at you. God, I love her. "C'mere," he murmured, pulling you closer to him. You smiled sheepishly as you nuzzled his chest, feeling his lips press a kiss to your forehead.

"What fabric softener do you use?" you asked quietly, and he laughed.

"Same as you, probably. Last time this was washed was when we were at the Academy."

"Disgusting," you said flatly, though your head was still resting against his chest. "Your really need to wash it."

"Y/N-"

"Don't you dare say it again!" you told him, leaning up to look at him. "I swear to God, Five-"

Grinning, he said quickly: "The world is ending!"

You both burst out laughing, you resting your face in the crook of his neck and closing your eyes. His arm across your shoulders, and you loved it. Every second of it.

"I could stay here forever," you mumbled into his jacket.

His head dropped against yours, and he whispered, "I could too."
