"Is that...?" Connie could faintly see a pink outline of a person struggling with a darker figure. It couldn't be... No. Definitely not Steven. That guy was whaling on that shadow man. Punching and even using his elbow and driving it into his face. Steven would never. He never even got that out of control when he went through his breakdown. She pushed herself up on one elbow and collapsed back down, hitting her head as the sound of struggle and low voices faded. "Ohhhh Shiva, that hurts~!"
And then she blacked out.

A cool washcloth woke Connie up and she squinted. It was taken away almost as quickly as she had stirred and when it returned, it made Connie's eyes twitch and she lightly coughed. "O-Ouch." Her body lurched and she winced in agony. "Ugh, I feel terrible."
She opened her eyes to see Steven, determined and hopeful, dabbing at her forehead. "You're awake." He murmured, sighing in relief. He was squatting next to her, with his jacket nowhere to be seen and gashes slowly but surely dissipating.
"Steven..." She reached for his face and he obliged, letting her cup it and sagging in relief.
"Oh Stars I thought I lost you." His voice cracked and he carefully gathered her in his arms. "You wouldn't wake up. You wouldn't wake up at first and I thought you were dead your breathing was so shallow and I couldn't find your pulse but then I did and then I couldn't again and it felt like life was ripping your soul out of your body over and over and-" He hugged her closely as tears started streaming down his face. "I really thought they killed you."
Connie shuddered and flexed her arms and returned the hug. "It's okay, Steven. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." She could feel the strength returning to her body as he held her tightly. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm here." She repeated softly.
He really started sobbing into her shoulder, kissing her neck and squeezing her even tighter against him. "It's all my fault I shouldn't have let you go by yourself. I should've insisted on being there with you instead of sneaking around. I'm sorry I should have trusted you but I knew something was going to happen and I couldn't stop it until it was too late."
Connie snuggled further into him, tears of shock and fear running down her own face. "Thank you. You saved my life."
He squeezed her again before lying her on her back, crawling over her. "Let me heal you. Please."
"St-steven." Connie tried to sound stern but she was aching with sore joints from sleeping on the ground and a splitting headache from the assault. She was going to refuse his help, but he teared up again and she knew he was already blaming himself. She couldn't say no. "Go ahead."
He gave her a strained smile and leaned down to kiss her nose, a slight shimmer seeping it's way into her face. Or maybe she was blushing. He chuckled and ran a finger under both of her cheekbones. Yes, she was definitely blushing. His lips found her cheeks, then her lips. She hummed as the pain seeped away and was replaced by strength and pleasure. Connie snaked her arms around his neck and pulled his kiss deeper.
"Eager." He whispered into her mouth.
"This is clearly for medicinal purposes only, don't get a big head." She protested cheekily.
It was Stevens turn to him as he pecked her lips again and trailed down her face and to her neck and shoulders.
Connie huffed and looked down at him with an eyebrow raised. "I thought you were healing me."
"Oh, I am." He said with mock seriousness. "I just figured I'd apply it directly to the area in pain." He dropped a kiss on her thigh and she moaned quietly. "It's purely business related. Promise." He winked at her and snuck his tongue out to lightly graze her hip with his tongue. She bucked up and covered her face with her hands, clearly in ecstacy. "Mmm... That's not very business like, Connie."
She growled and quickly pinned him to the floor, her hair falling in loose strands around her face. "I'll show you professional."
I promised I'd do it, and I did. I hope it was worth the wait. I think I have one more chapter before I start working on Capturing Connie again haha.
