Chapter 16: Lies

  Jungkook couldn't stop smiling not only had Jimin said he was handsome, but he had actually smiled brightly as he looked him in the eyes. He hadn't looked disgusted as he gazed at him. He could feel his body relaxing, the pain in his muscles fading. 

  He is still trying to wrap his mind around that Jimin thought he was handsome. It has been so long since someone had told him he was handsome. If it had come from anyone else, he would have scoffed and called them a liar, but the sincerity in his voice had left no doubt in his mind that he had meant it.

  He ran his fingers through his hair bushing it back from his face, his long hair had been his crutch for so long maybe it's time for a change, maybe it's time for him to change. 

  He smiled at Jimin, surprised to see his face turn pink. Namjoon's phone rang he frowned as he looked at the screen Hello he listened for a moment. He nudged Jimin gesturing that he needed to get out we'll be right there. He hung up and slid out of the booth "we have to leave there's a leak in our room and we need to go move our equipment" Yoongi slid out "fuck! move your ass" they both rushed out of the restaurant.

  Jimin giggled shaking his head "I shouldn't laugh but their equipment is like their children, though I completely understand how important it is and how expensive it is" Jungkook nodded "it's their lively hood I think I would have a breakdown if something happened to my computer."

  Jimin glanced around "I can tell your uncomfortable with so many people around, honestly me too. Let's go someplace quieter so we can have an actual conversation. If you want that is, no pressure." Jungkook nodded "that sounds great" his heart is doing summersaults in his chest he is actually going to spend time with Jimin and get to know him, face to face. He slid out of the booth "I road with Yoongi and Namjoon so I'll have to catch a ride."

  Jimin giggled "that's fine" They stood up and headed out of the restaurant. Jungkook jumped forward to open the door for Jimin "thank you" he said as he brushed by. They headed to Hoseok's car " this is my roommate's car he's kind enough to let me use it, I really want to get my own can but I'm so busy I don't go anywhere. Hoseok or my company takes me to all my shoots. I want a house more than a car, I need to go to a real estate office" Jimin suddenly giggled "I'm so sorry I'm talking your ear off" Jungkook smiled "it's fine, I haven't had an actual conversation in a while it's just nice hearing another person's voice" he truly didn't care, he could listen Jimin read a dictionary and be content with just listening to the soothing tone of his voice.

  "I know this cute little dinner few people know about it so only regulars go there. They have the best finger steaks ever" Jungkook grinned, how is on human this adorable? "That sounds good let's go there."

  Jimin started the car and backed out of the parking lot before pulling into the road. "I always come here alone, this is where I come to think. It will be our secret place" Jungkook's heart fluttered in his chest, they had a secret place, just them that no one knew about. " I don't mind sharing it with you I think you're similar to me in that sometimes you need to be alone with your thought" "I live alone, but sometimes seeing the same four walls drive me insane. So yeah a quiet place to think that isn't the same four walls would be nice" Jimin smiled "you know we're not so different, that's why I spoke up about you're scars. I could tell you were self-conscious and trying so hard to hide them. The way your eyes bounced around the room looking to see if people staring at you, I understand. I am in the middle of a very public trial and feel like everyone is staring at me and judging me because of what happened. Half of them think I this seductress that used my body to get what I want, and deserved what happened. The others believe me and think he should be put away for a long time."

  Jungkook reached out and squeezed his shoulder "I'm sorry you're going through that. People are judgemental bastards. I expect the staring from kids, they don't know better, but adults they know better. I've had people gasp and say "oh my God" before running away, it's humiliating. That's why I don't go out much and when I do I try to hide as much of my face as I can but your reaction made me realize not all people are judgemental ass holes, you need to think of that too. I don't know you well but I believe whatever you say because it's obvious you are uncomfortable with all the attention. Even though I don't know you well I can read people pretty well, yes you beautiful but you don't think so. I can tell this by the way you dress, if you were out to seduce you would show much more of that creamy, smooth skin."
