"Kim Jongin I hope you're not giving these two lovely ladies a hard time."
Davina's POV
I really wished I didn't recognize that voice. It was a voice almost every female would give up their soul for. A voice of a person that every men envied. It was the voice of our king.
My body stiffens as I try to avoid looking at the man who stepped in front of us. Kai chuckles before pulling him into a hug. "Taemin what did I tell you about calling me by my full name."
"I know I just felt like getting on your nerves." He says before turning his attention onto. "What do we have here?"
Simone was completely starstruck. I thought her reaction to Kai was crazy, her reaction to Taemin was worse. It made me cringe and I tried so hard not to laugh at the state she was in right now.
"These two ladies are icons of the kingdom. I'm sure you know who they are." Kai says. Taemin watches me with a look in his eyes. "Trust me I know who they are."
"Right, um this is our cue to leave I'm sure you want to have a conversation with your friend alone." I say quickly while reaching to grab Simone to drag her away but Taemin stops me.
"No stay I want to catch up and talk with all of you if you don't mind." He says giving off a grin that was anything but innocent. "Yeah let's stay Davina." Simone says not being much help to my situation. I grumbled before staying and listening to them converse with each other. Simone was telling him about how her books was selling fast and how she's filming for one of them right now.
That's when someone caught my eye that I knew would help me get out of this situation. "Oh look! There's Lim Jaebum!" I say completely snatching her attention away from the current conversation. "I'll be such a horrible bestie if I didn't help to go over and introduce yourself."
"Oh! Kai aren't you good friends with Jaebum? You can introduce him to Ms.Simone." Taemin suggests giving me a lil smirk. He knew exactly what he was doing.
"Yes of course. Come on let's get you introduced to him."
Kai and Simone walks away leaving me behind with Taemin. I could feel my heartbeat speed up as he looks me up and down and gives me a look that looks like he wants to devour me. "You look absolutely delicious tonight Davina."
"Thank you, and you look handsome tonight King." I reply back. "You and I both know you don't have to call me that. Instead I want you calling me something else tonight." He says staring me directly in my eyes.
Fuck.
Before he could say anything else though a man comes up to him and whispers something into his ears. Taemin nods and says something back before giving his attention back to me. "This isn't over baby girl."
I watched as he walked with the man behind the stage and then she shortly reappeared on the stage. All the loud talking stopped and so did the music and room lights turned off while the stage lights turned on. That's when Taemin started speaking.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to my annual ball and I'm so glad to see all of you here. I know that everyone came to here the big announcement so I'm just going to skip straight to it. I'm hitting they age where it's time to settle down and start the new heir of the kingdom. So I would like to say that I'm now in search of a wife who will not only fulfill my needs but the needs of the kingdom too."
It was like he was like he was staring at me as he said the last part. "So please ladies beware that I am watching and I can't wait to make one of you my wife."
