Kabanata 8

JAKE'S POV

"Take an eye on her. I really wanna go there but i'm still not finished with my shooting and my wife is going home so I must be here for her to not suspect me. I'm trusting this on you." *Toot tooot *

Ahhh, this Santiago is really a pain in the ass. I'm still stuck here with that lame woman and that noisy baby but worst, in the middle of the forest. I know it's my job to do but I can't stand this woman. So stubborn.

Somehow, I pity her. But i'm not allowed to feel that emotion. It would kill me. I'm the best secret agent and assassin in my world. Many famous names trusted me in this kind of work. Silly them, I only kill bad guys not the innocent one. I'm not that bad if you think. By the way, I'm Jake Bricksman and this is my job. Pay me dozens and i'll secure your dishonesty. I'm a lawyer, professor and secret agent in such a young age.

It's been 3 days, since the three of us is here and last night, that woman tried to sneak out but poor her, i'm faster than speed. She's really stubborn. Why did I agree on this sh*t. And why does my client still not here. Ughh, showbiz things. It' what I hated the most.

*Beep beep* (Reid Calling)

"Hey, whats up Reid?" My trusted friend Reid called. Reid is my cousin and we're in this kind of world when we were fifteen.

" I found out something about your client."

"What is it?"

" He's the one who killed her daughter and that's what his person said. I found out also that he's the mastermind behind the car accident 15 years ago that caused a couple to die." I was shocked the moment he said that. He killed innocent people even his own child.

"What else did you found Reid?"

"I acted like one of his bodyguards and thankfully he didn't notice and I heard that he wants that woman dead also the baby. He lied to us that he won't hurt anyone but turns out he's going to do it. And as soon as the public found out, he would let us take the blame."

" Thanks Reid." I ended the call and hurried back to the house. I saw her dancing her baby to sleep.

LORI'S POV

Habang sinasayaw ko si baby upang makatulog ay biglang pumasok si Jake. Alam ko na ang pangalan dahil sinabi niya. Englishero tsaka minsan lang magtagalog kaya nakakanosebleed.

Tatlong araw na rin kaming nandito. Kahit anong takas ang gawin ko, nahuhuli parin ako. Gusto ko nang makatakas kasi naaawa na ako kay baby.
Siguradong nag-aalala na rin sina Mitch at Nana kung bakit di na ako umuwi.

"Pack your things, we need to go." Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya. Saan niya kami dadalhin? Baka dun sa taong naghahabol sa mama ni Heather. No way, I won't let that happen.

"No, Just let us free. Maawa ka naman sa bata. " Pagmamatigas ko sa kanya. There's no way na mapunta kami sa taong humahabol samin.

"I'm not taking you to that man, i'm taking you somewhere else." Ano daw?

"Anong ibig mong sabihin?" Tanong ko pero umalis na siya at pumunta sa kwarto niya. Binilisan ko nalang ang pag-iimpake kasi parang sincere rin naman siya sa sinabi niya sadyang wala lang talaga akong alam. Matapos kong makaimpake ay kinarga ko na si baby. Saktong bumaba na si Jake at may dalang bagpack. Kukunin na niya sana ang bag ko nang pigilan ko siya.

"Wait...."

"I'll tell you in the car. Let's go." Kinuha na niya ang bag ko kaya sumunod narin ako. Pumasok na ako sa front seat habang karga si baby na natutulog. Hindi ko alam kung anong balak niyang gawin pero sana walang masamang mangyari.
