It had been a week since the UA entrance exam. During that time Luna hadn't spoken to Izuku once. He, however, had texted, knocked on her door, left notes, and even some of his mom's cooking. She ignored it all. She was just so hurt, and she began to feel guilty for it. As if she shouldn't even be this mad. But she couldn't help it. He had betrayed her trust, had lied to her. For years.
She sighed as she sat up on her couch and looked around the little apartment. It was times like these she missed her nanny. But her parents had decided she was old enough to not need her anymore. It hurt deeply when they took her away, even if the woman was cold to her for the time she was employed. Because now Luna truly was all alone. Without Izu- no Midoriya, it was like no one even knew she existed. She got up and went to her room to put on some clothes. She was so tired of just sitting around her apartment, she needed to do something. Reaching into her drawers she pulled out her favorite black jeans, black t-shirt, and grabbed her favorite red hoodie from her closet. No, that's not right. The green one was her real favorite, but looking at it reminded her of Midoriya, and she just.. she couldn't handle that right now. So she left it there hanging. Going to the front door she reached down to slip on her black converse and headed out.
She wasn't entirely sure where she was even going, all she knew was she needed to just get some air. Wandering around for a while she ended up at the park. As she walked around she could just imagine her and Izuku playing here all the time as kids. And honestly? It made her heart hurt. Feeling her phone vibrating in her pocket, she groaned, pulling it out thinking it was probably just Izuku again. But when she looked at the screen her heart dropped. It was her dad.
She had no idea why he and her mom had suddenly started calling, but She assumed it was because of her possible entrance into UA. Neither of them were heroes, her mom was a respected healer. Her dad worked with the movie producers on sets, it was mostly horror movies but they made very good money and were known throughout the world not just for their quirks, but how skillfully they used them. But when just before her fifth birthday, her quirk manifested her entire world was shattered. And her parents were livid. It made no sense. Where did these black wings come from? And the tattoos...no one had any explanation for the tattoos
It didn't matter to them she couldn't control her quirk manifesting. They immediately cast her aside, keeping her as hidden as possible before finally deciding they wanted nothing to do with her entirely. So, she was sent away. Sent to live with only a nanny at 5. Her parents ensured she always had money, but that was all they gave her. No time spent with the family ever, total isolation, never got to celebrate any holidays, she had to fight with them just to let her go to school.
Her life had always been so lonely, even with Izuku around. She gritted her teeth and looked at the phone in her hand, now silent. And now, after all these years, they suddenly begin reaching out again? Speaking to her again? They had called nearly every day since the exam. Always asking if she had gotten her results, and then telling her to call them when she did. That was always the extent of the conversation. Pure business, and nothing else.
Slipping her phone back into her pocket, she looked up at the sky, now painted in reds and oranges as the sun went down, and sighed. 'Time to head back I guess.'
She took her time walking back, it's not like anyone was waiting for her at home so why rush? Just as her building came into view she saw the post person walking up. Her complex was always the last stop of the day for them. Smiling, she greeted them. "Hi Mr. Akiro, got anything for me in your bag?" She half-joked in her attempt to be friendly. "Actually Ms. Bell, I do have something here for you. A letter from UA." He reached for his bag and handed her the letter. "I'm sure these are the results you've been waiting for. Good luck." And with that, he turned, got in his vehicle, and drove away.
Luna was left standing on the sidewalk alone, holding the letter that would change her whole world. And yet, she felt too scared to open it. She wishes she could run up to Midoriya's right now and open it with him. She didn't want to be alone when she heard these results. Leaning against the brick wall behind her and sliding down into a sitting position, she continued to stare at the letter.
Debating whether to open it or not, she heard a voice beside her growl. "Get outta the way you damn extra." She jumped and looked up to see where the voice came from. 'Oh no, not him.' She thought to herself as she looked into his crimson eyes. Why did it have to be him? Before she could stop herself, she spits out the words,
"Fuck off, there's plenty of room for you to walk around." His eyes widened and she could feel the rage coming off him. 'Crap, crap, crap!' She stood up and started to back away when he grabbed her wrist.
"AND JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE-" He stopped short as he noticed the letter in her hand, he smirked. "I remember you, you were that girl walking with the Deku. What? Does your loser ass really think you're going to get into UA? You're probably quirkless just like that damn nerd. Open the letter you fucking extra, let's see how bad you failed." He snatched the letter from her and as she jumped to take it back he ripped it open, causing a small disc to fall out onto the sidewalk, and an image of All Might appeared.
"I AM HERE, to give you your exam results!" He said it in typical All Might fashion. Explosion boy smirked beside Luna and she could tell he truly thought she had failed. She didn't want him to hear her results, this guy was an ass. But there was nothing she could do as All Might continued talking. "With a total of 60 rescue points and 65 combat points, LUNA BELL YOU HAVE PASSED YOUR EXAM. WELCOME TO UA!" She gaped at the projection, she passed? She really passed?? She couldn't contain her excitement and began jumping around and cheering. She looked over to see explosion guy staring at her with pure hate. She stuck her tongue out at him and laughed in his face. "Who's the extra now huh?" She asked him as he turned to walk away. "Whatever, just because you got in doesn't mean anything. You're still a weak loser, you and that damn Deku." He walked off into the night as she continued celebrating.
Running up to her apartment and Luna took out her phone planning to call Midoriya. Until she remembered she currently wasn't speaking to him right now. Feeling her mood begin to shift a bit she quickly shook her head and caught herself. "NO! I will NOT be sad right now! I just got into UA! Tonight is a happy night!" She shouted at no one. Luna spent the rest of the night celebrating the good news all by herself. Meanwhile, Izuku listened to her on the other side of the wall and smiled. Happy he would finally have a chance to talk to her and try to make things right.
