Three days have passed since Natsu's team returned home from Frasherd. Gray's wounds have healed, along with Natsu's due to the help of an anxious Sky Dragon Slayer. Gray has spent hours thinking about the time to reveal his sexuality and has come to the decision that today is the day. He was going to tell the entire team.
Gray slowly walks through the Fairy Tail guild doors, fighting the thoughts to run back to Fairy Hill. In the far corner, the team sits. Gray feels the urge to puke as the butterflies mess with his breakfast. The closer he gets to the table, the worse the urges are. The feeling of being alone consumes him. The feeling of abandonment reaches as he makes it to the table. He breathes in and lets out a fake cough, grabbing everyone's attention. They look up at him. "What did you want to talk about, Gray?" Erza asks in a supporting manner.
"He's finally admitting my excellence," Natsu jokes. Gray stares at him deadly.
"Unlike you, It's important." Natsu pouts.
"That's mean. I am important," he whines.
"Sure you are," Gray replies tightly.
"What is it, Gray?" Wendy says soft-spoken.
Gray takes in a deep breath. "Well, I'm...uh. I'm bi-sexual," he says tautly. The silence increases in volume. Thoughts of unacceptance fill Gray's mind. They didn't like him anymore.
Erza walks over to Gray and pulls him into a tight hug. "We accept you, Gray," Erza says, voice modulated. The weight crushing Gray's chest slowly was lifted.
"Yeah, Gray. We accept you," Lucy backs Erza up. "How could you think any differently?"
"I don't know," Gray admits embarrassingly. Erza lets Gray free and deeply into his eyes.
"So, who's your crush?" Gray's worst nightmare comes to life.
"Well." Gray scratches the back of his neck in an attempt to escape the dire situation.
"Come on, Gray, we don't care," Natsu urges and Gray chuckles nervously.
"Why don't you tell us who you like then, Pyro?" Gray turns the tables. Natsu's eyes widen in surprise at Gray's words.
"Well, I like Lucy. Now tell us who you like!" Gray's heart burns and the weight returns.
"Well, I like Juvia," he lies, heart dropping through to his stomach. He controls the sickening feeling building in his stomach.
"I knew it," Natsu says aggressively but proudly. Natsu swings his arm around Gray's shoulder. Fuzziness fills Gray's body, his heart slowly returning to its normal position.
"Let me go, Frying Pan," Gray growls.
"Nope." A grin is plastered on Natsu's face. His beautiful smile.
"I don't want your disgusting hands on me. Do this to your girlfriend or something," Gray shouts. Natsu stares at Gray before removing his arm around Gray and running to Lucy. His heart, nearly having locked itself back into place, drops once again. All this lying is something that Gray isn't used to.
Lucy's cheeks deepen to a red as harsh as Erza's hair as Natsu wraps his arm around her. "Uh, Natsu? I think we have to sort things out first." Lucy laughs awkwardly. Natsu smiles again. Gray's heart skips a beat.
"You're right!" Natsu grabs Lucy's hand and pulls her out of the guildhall.
"What do you think will happen to those two?" Erza asks curiously.
"I think they're going to get all lovey-dovey with each other," Happy replies. Carla walks over to him and slaps his face.
"Don't be so dirty minded, Tom Cat," Carla scolds.
"Gray, put some clothes on," Wendy nervously orders, covering her face from the horrible sight.
Gray sighs disappointedly with himself. He grabs his clothes and puts them back on.
The team sits down and waits for the new couple to return. Gray's stomach continues to churn and he starts fiddling with his necklace. Everyone else is talking to each other. Soon, Natsu and Lucy walk back in, holding each other's hands. "Did Pyro finally get a girlfriend?" Gray teases.
"Shut up, Ice Princess," Natsu growls.
Lucy covers her face with her free hand. "This is so awkward," she squeaks out.
"Congrats!" Wendy and Erza say, almost in synchronization.
Lucy removes her hand from her face. "Uh, thankyou," she says softly.
The whole guild goes quiet as loud and harsh footsteps hit the floorboards. Gray and the others turn around. Gray's eyes widen in fury. His heart starts racing and his blood boils. He growls loudly. "You!"
