No. This can't be happening. Happy. Where's Happy? He better be out here when I rip this place to shreds. I need him. Happy, please don't leave me, Natsu thinks sadly as he wildly peels the darkness away with his good arm. The world has changed, everything is destroyed or gone and the sky is dark with smoke and ash.
"What the hell happened!?" Gray shouts.
"I-I don't know," Lucy says, shock and worry evident in her tone. Natsu slips out of the hole and walks around the streets. It looks horrible. Bones lay around near the buildings with broken signs hanging loosely off the broken buildings. Things crumbling in the distance. How far has time moved? Natsu takes a deep breath.
"Hello, anybody here?" Gray booms from behind. Natsu winces but hears a small sob behind a heap of rubble.
"There's someone behind the rubble over there," Natsu casually says and points to where he's talking about.
Erza bends down behind the rubble, staying out of sight as she talks in a kind, soothing voice. She soon reappears with a little girl tightly griping onto her clothes. The girls' clothes are ripped and destroyes.
"Daddy was t-taken by this m-man!" The little girl mumbles into Erza's neck as she draws circles onto her back.
"It's OK. We'll get him back for you," Erza comforts the best she can. She rests the girl on the ground and looks back to the others, giving them a harsh signal to leave. The walk a few feet back to Wendy. The darkness has all crumbles away and disappeared.
"I hope she wakes up soon," Lucy whispers.
Natsu pulls her into a hug as she begins crying, trying to support his friends by rubbing circles into her back. Erza approaches not long after, in a set of pyjamas. The girl's knotted brown hair points to the team as she rests against her shoulder. Natsu lets go of Lucy but keeps an arm around her, rubbing her bicep. "Her name is Himari Aikawa. She sleeping right now...she told me what year it is," Erza whispers.
"Tell," Gray mumbles.
"...X889."
Short silence. "Does that mean Fairy Tail is over?" Lucy asks sadly. Natsu tightens his grip.
"We can't lose hope. It's Fairy Tail. They'll push through," Gray says. "But more importantly, what about our friends?"
Natsu's heart sinks in the silence, feeling heavy and hurting more than lying about his sexuality. Groaning behind them brings him back to his senses. He looks behind and sees that Wendy has awoken and is slowly opening her eyes, attempting to move her head but stops immediately. She squeezes her eyes tightly shut, a few tears slipping out. Gray hobbles over and asks, "How are you feeling?"
After some time, she responds, "sore." Her eyes dance around the place. "What happened?" She whispers.
"We time travelled, forcefully," Lucy explains.
"Oh...Who's the girl?"
"Himari Aikawa," Lucy responds again.
"Her parents were taken," Natsu interrupts.
"Natsu," Erza whisper-shouts. He quickly turns around to face her, fear evident on his face. "Take Aikawa. I'm going to requip into a doctors outfit. I have just enough magic to do so. I'll help heal Wendy the best I can." She walks towards Natsu and gently holds the feeble girl in his arms.
She requips silently and walks over to Wendy. She bends down and pulls out a book, flipping through the many pages. "What are you doing?" Gray asks.
"Shh," she sounds sharply. Gray gulps Erza turns a few more pages before stopping. She looks at Wendy before looking back to the book. "Your burns fit the description of seconds degree burns. It says to give you penicillin, 500 milligrams of it every twelve hours and to apply a thin layer of Bacitracin cream twice a day, ten hours apart. I also need to wrap all the burns in a non-stick gauze called Cuticerin. You need to drink a lot of water," she explains.
