Gray was teleported on top of a tall building with Happy. The wind blows through Gray's hair. "Why'd I have to get stuck with you?" Gray growls at Happy.
"Hey! That's not very nice!" Happy crosses his arms over his chest in protest.
"It doesn't matter right now." Gray looks out over the city. It all seems deserted which is different to how it was in the morning. The sun still hangs high in the sky shining it's clouded rays onto his delicate skin, yet, Gray can't feel the heat, not like he can with Natsu. "We need to find the rest of the team."
"Aye! Happy replies and punches the air.
"A spell has been placed around your specific area. You can't escape unless you defeat your opponent. Good luck," a brusque voice explains. Gray and Happy look around btu can't find the owner of the voice.
"Whoever you are, come out now!"
"Y-Yeah!" Happy stutters.
A deep throaty laugh comes from behind the two members of Fairy Tail. They turn around and see a dark orange skin man laughing and crying on the floor. Gray growls at him. He finally calms down enough to stand up and speak. He looms over Gray and Happy (his height is definitely a soaring six foot three or more). He has a white buzz cut and dark green squinty eyes that stare at the two. He wears a white V-neck shirt and a fresh green coat. A baby blue belt holds up a pair of black pants with wave cut-outs at the base. "You're quite the naïve one, aren't you?" He asks with a smooth and husky voice.
"Who are you?" Gray asks, annoyed. Happy quickly flies away to hide.
"Akatsume. Yours?" he simply says.
"Gray..." he grumbles.
"Oh! You're the one that Master's obsessed with." Gray gets into a fighting position. "He doesn't want me to kill you but I'll prepare you for him." Akatsume spreads into the generic fighting pose but puts is right hand on his left shoulder and his left grabs his lower obliques on his right side. White marks cover half his face. "Water Devil: Vodyanoi Destruction Wave!" He shouts and a huge tsunami-size wave builds up in front of Akatsume.
"Ice Make: Shield!" Gray shouts. The water hits the shield and runs down the sides of the building.
"Gray! Look out!" Happy shouts from behind him. Gray looks up and sharp water needles float above him. They go to attack Gray the moment he sees them. With not enough time to dodge the attack, Akatsume manages to hit Gray. He shouts a profanity at one of the needles that attacked him in the bicep. It's form disappears and tinted red water runs down his arm. He rests his hand over the wound and a layer of ice freezes over over his wound, it immediately gets soaked with blood.
"I'll have to get Wendy to heal this for me..." Gray groans.
Akatsume turns into an orange puddle of water and slithering up to Gray. "Ice Make: Floor," he whispers and freezes Akatsume but the water begins steaming, melting the ice above it. Gray takes a step back, blood trickling down his arm.
Akatsume sends another attack at Gray and he stops it. He lets out an angry breath and activates his demon form, standing with is legs apart. "Ice Devil's Rage!" He shouts and releases a large beam of cold air, ice and snow from his mouth, hitting Akatsume who spreads his legs apart and fights the attack.
Gray lunges towards Akatsume with his Ice Excalibur held behind him. The pain has settled down. He jumps up, bringing the sword down onto Akatsume who manages to make a water shield in time to block the attack. Gray jumps back.
Gray stands in his fighting pose. He straightens his arms in front of him. Ice lances shouts out of his palms and towards his enemy who melts into a puddle.
