A Preference

A Preference sang loudly,
Used as a weapon to destroy the existence of self love and self acceptance,
Society, a bunch of ingrates,
Glorifying desired looks in an attempt to dim the undesired ones.
A crowd of ignorance, a crowd of similar desires, similar needs,
A rival to the unfortunate looking, as they continue being denied a glimpse of praise,
A sudden kill to a heart hanging on a thread for survival,
While their battle scars are ordered to be hidden as they defy beauty, along with one's preference,
A required tool to pick a love interest, a trophy, passed on from one lover to another,
Not that the heart can bare the inability to love for eternity for much longer,
However, a preference is of a greater importance.
