October 1978

After Remus and Y/N left Hogwarts, they spent a lot of time at his parents house as they tried to find a place to live by themselves.

It was a cold October morning as they drove back to his parents house after staying with Lily and James for a week, looking at houses. She was bundled up in the warmest clothes she could find. A thick sweater, one of Remus's, and her scarf from Hogwarts.

He held her hand as they walked through the door. The familiar feeling of home washed over her. It was a warm feeling. Very inviting. The Lupin's were always happy to have Y/N over. She was over quite a lot during the summer's at Hogwarts. They appreciated how much she loved Remus and how she gave him something worth living for.

They had found a house near James and Lily's and they were supposed to move out in a week, so they spent a lot of that last week boxing up all their belongings, but in between the stress of packing they made room for simple moments just between them.

Like where they were right now, after Y/N set down her Hogwarts scarf in Remus's drawer, she climbed into bed with him. The sheets were cold but as they huddled together they heated each other up and fell asleep.

The two had only been together their last two years at Hogwarts but everything felt natural and like they had been together for years. Their friends would tease them on countless occasions for acting like an old couple, but they didn't mind.

The last week at Remus's parents house was sad but hopeful at the same time. Remus and Y/N were sad they had to say goodbye to his parents, but excited to start their own life with their friends.

Y/N spent a lot of time with Hope. They were like best friends. They spent a lot of time talking about muggle books, being that Hope was a muggle and Y/N was muggle-born. It was nice having someone to talk to who had the same childhood as her, when she grew up around wizards.

Remus and Y/N packed all their things into cardboard boxes and said goodbye to his parents and hopped into his car.

Remus forgot to check his dresser one last time. Y/N's Hogwarts scarf laying inside the top drawer unbeknownst to him.

We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate
Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place
And I can picture it after all these days

They made their way to Godric's Hollow, Autumn leaves covering the streets as they blasted music from the speakers of his car. Getting lost within the music and singing along to every word.

Before they decided to go to their new home and unlock the doors, they drive through the neighborhood, taking in the area. Getting used to the idea of having a life there.

They got out of the car and walked through a nearby park. The bright Autumn colors were the only thing they could see. A big tree in the middle of the park, with little leaves dropping every now and then, occasionally falling on them.

They held hands as they reached an empty bench looking all too inviting. They sat on it and took in their surroundings. The sweet smell on Autumn calming their senses as Remus draped an arm across her shoulders.

Something about their relationship felt so much like they were still living in the honeymoon stage. They never fought and spent many moments like this together. Getting lost in the area by them, feeling like the only two people in the world as Y/N laid her head on Remus's shoulder.
