You woke up to the sun just starting to rise, the sky a sultry mix of purples and oranges. You shivered slightly at the chill present in your bedroom, as well as the lack of blankets covering your body. You rolled over, searching for the comforter that you knew you had before you fell asleep.
You found it, but it was wrapped tightly around your sleeping boyfriend. It felt good to say that, even to yourself. He looked so peaceful, all wrapped up in the giant blanket, his hair falling over his face, as he was on his side. He must've been having a good dream because he had the biggest smile on his face. It was cute.
You smiled down at him just as he opened one eye, before closing his and letting out a small laugh. "Starring is rude ya know." He said before rolling onto his back and stretching. He let out a very loud, obnoxious grunt as his muscles relaxed.
"No. Being that fucking loud before," you sat up and looked at the clock on your bedside table, "7 am is rude." You giggled.
Spencer unraveled himself from the blankets, throwing the stolen comforter over your bodies, scooting closer to wrap himself around you. "You're the one whos up before the sun, missy."
"Someone stole all my blankets so I woke up freezing to death." You joked.
Spencer pulled back slightly, peeking under the covers, "well, you clearly aren't freezing to death because you still have all your clothes on. Your statement is inaccurate. More like, you woke up slightly chilly."
You rolled your eyes, the sarcasm not lost on you.
"This is nice." Spencer said after a beat.
You smiled into his chest, leaving soft kisses on the bare skin you could reach. You were just about to make a sarcastic reply, when your alarm went off to alert you of the impending work day.
You groaned as you untangled yourself from Spencer's grip to shut it off. "And yet again, reality comes back to bite us in the ass."
You sat up and collected your phone. You always checked your e-mails and social media before you decided to get up for the day. Spencer cuddled up beside you, looking on to the things he swore he would never have. The first post that popped up was a picture from your sister of her with her daughter and their avocado toast. You turned the phone towards Spence, showing him.
"This is my sister Jenna and her daughter Katrina. She turns three Christmas day!" You loved talking about your family. They were everything to you and more. When your baby sister told everyone she was pregnant, it felt the entire world stopped. You didn't have an eidetic memory, but you didn't need one to remember the look on everyones faces as our mother opened an early birthday present announcing the news. It was a t-shirt that said "worlds best nana" on it.
Spencer smiled up at you, "she cute. Do you ever think about that? Having kids I mean?"
You hadn't. Kids weren't in your life plan. You always said you were married to the job and felt you were too selfish to ever be able to take care of a tiny human. That was until you met Spencer. The thought of having little genius babies, who had a mix of his and your DNA, excited you to your core. And if they ended up looking like him? Bless their hearts.
"Not until I met you." You told him honestly.
"Me? Why me? There's nothing special about me."
This poor boy. He truly had no idea just how fucking special he was.
"Oh pretty boy, you are so dumbest genius I've ever met." You pushed his hair out of his face as you continued to scroll. "But if you must know. I don't have an answer of 'why you' it just is you." You felt him smile against you.
You opened up your e-mails, praying there was none from the director. You scrolled for a minute before you got to an e-mail with no subject line, but it claimed it was from Garcia. You clicked on it, thinking it was just a picture of some cats. But it was a file. You opened the attachment, downloading the file to your phone.
"Spence." You said in a panicked monotone voice.
He picked his head up, eyes filled with worry. You turned the phone to him, his eyes growing wide with realization. "Get up. We have to get to the BAU now. Don't delete this email. Screenshot all of this. I'll call the team."
...
You'd never gotten dressed so fast in your life. You threw on a pair of skinny blue jeans, a black turtle neck and a striped blazer, pairing it with some black heeled booties. You gathered up your stuff and hopped in Spencer's car.
You arrived to the BAU in no time, once again running up to the sixth floor. You were starting to not be as out of breath as usual from all this fucking running you'd been doing lately. You and Spencer marched in there, meeting everyone at the round table room. The entire team looked at you with questioning looks. There was a lot of explaining to be done.
"Before anyone asks, yes Spence slept over last night. Yes, we're working on our relationship. Everyone clear?" They all shook their heads, so you continued before anyone asked questions. "This morning I got an e-mail from Garcia, only it wasn't from Garcia. I don't know who it was from but I'm assuming my father. Go ahead, Garcia."
She clicked the remote and up popped the contents of the file. Photos. Again. You watched the visible cringe flash across their faces. This time, they were semi safe for work. You getting on the jet, you getting off the jet. You and Spencer in the heated kiss in your apartment. And it ended with you asleep on Spencers chest.
"I wasn't able to track the e-mail. Every time I sent one to that address, it went straight to y/n's inbox." Garcia pointed out before anyone asked.
Emily scrunched up her face, "no offence, y/n, but I am so fucking sick of your father."
"Me too and I've never met the man. Which reminds me, we never talked about how you got away? I was too mad at you."
"There was a night someone came to interrogate me. He was weaker than me so I took my chances. Headbutted him just right and got the keys. I had gotten the ropes around my hands done and just needed the keys to the chains around my ankles. And I ran." Spencer shuddered at the memory.
"We need to find your father. Spence, you said the reason they took you was because you wouldn't leave y/n alone." JJ said. Spencer nodded, his hand coming to grasp yours.
"So why did they just take her last night? They just took pictures. I don't understand." Matt questioned as he looked at the screen. "Wait. Garcia, zoom in on the clock?"
She did as he asked. The time read 6:40. You gasped, "they were in my house 3 minutes before I woke up. I only woke up because I was cold. But I thought it was because Spencer stole the blankets."
Spencer was wrapped up in the blankets in the photo but when Garcia panned the photo out and went to the next one, you noticed something. A diamond. You thought back to the nightstand and what it looked like before you got out of bed. There was no diamond.
"Wait. Theres a diamond in this photo. I'd say about 3 carats." You stood, pointing to the picture. "But I know for a fact, that wasn't there when I turned my alarm off. Plus its on my phone and I didn't feel it when I picked it up."
Spencers eyes grew wider than you thought possible. "They've been at my apartment again." He looked between you and Luke. "What did you do with the gun safe?"
