   Lydia gently opened her eyes.
She found herself in a hospital bed in bandages.

"Lydia?" Rick noticed her awakening.

"Rick...?" Lydia tried to get her eyes adjusted.

"You're okay," Rick said and out his hand in her arm.

She looked up at him looking down at her. "I was... shot?" Lydia was horrified.
She quickly removed the bloody bandages to find no wounds. "It must've healed," She thought.

"I was worried sick; you scared the hell out of me!" Rick tightly hugged her. Lydia hugged back.
"Why were you in there?" Lydia questioned.

"I- tried getting my throne back," Rick let go of her.

"But why?"  Lydia didn't understand. "

"This war has gone out of hand, and then you go and join it! I wanted to stop it, I felt like—sense I didn't reclaim it when I had a chance, it's my fault this war is happening; So, I tried fixing it," Rick explained.

"Oh, Rick, this has nothing to do with you. Yes, you could have prevented it, but you must focus on how you can stop it now, not how you could've," Lydia told.

Rick teared up. "I missed you so much," He hugged her again. "Me too," She laid her head against his shoulder and hugged

"I need to share something with you," Rick said.

"Yeah?" Lydia replied.

"I think I know the answer of how we got connected," He said.
Lydia pulled him away into view and looked into his eyes. "You do?!" She was surprised.

"Have you heard of the royal curse before?" He sat on the side of the bed. "No... I don't think so," Lydia answered.

"The royal curse is activated whenever a married person of royalty cheats with another of royalty, their children get cursed into being inseparable for life. I think when you were born, that's when the curse activated," Rick explained.

"You're saying I'm royal?" Lydia asked.

"Yo- You—are royal," Rick trembled on his word.

"How do you know that Rick? I thought you couldn't remember my past," Lydia was confused.

"Um—I never told you because... you were young and I was scared," Rick answered.

"Scared?" Lydia didn't get it. "I remember your past, but I felt scared of telling you because I didn't know how you'd handle it...
Your mother was the second daughter of the king of the Furries. She died giving birth to you because her body was too small to give birth to a Neko... Your aunt the next in line to the throne was supposed to take you in, but she didn't want anything to do with you and gave you away..." Rick explained.

Lydia tried processing this information. "Gave... me away?" Lydia felt heart broken.

"She... she didn't want you-" Rick started to fidget with his fingers.

"Because of me. I was scared of ever telling you because I thought you'd hate me because it was my fault you didn't have a home and it was my fault you didn't have a family... I'm sorry Lydia," Rick confessed nervously waiting for a response.

"Rick... I wish I had known this sooner, but I'm not going to be mad at you for that, how could I be? I understand why you would be scared, but you are my family and you never took that away; And if my aunt didn't want anything to do with you then I don't want anything to do with her!" Lydia replied.

Rick was not expecting that reply.

"But, if you remember before I could, why exactly didn't she like you?" Lydia questioned.
