"Come on Hitoshi. Open up." Aizawa gently coaxed, holding the baby in the crook of one arm and a bottle in the other. But Hitoshi refused, scowling and growling as he pushed the bottle away yet again. He'd been in a bad mood all day, one that hadn't been improved by his morning nap or Shouta's attempts at giving him a snack. Shouta sighed and set the bottle down on the kitchen island just as Mic limped in. He'd taken a nasty blow to the leg while out on patrol the previous night, warranting a few days off from work.
"Yo! What's happenin' in here?"
"Well Hitoshi's still being stubborn and cranky with me. Now he's even refusing to eat. Can you take him?"
"No problem!"
He happily took the glowering tyke from his husband and carefully set him on his uninjured hip. Shouta nodded and set off for their bedroom, undoubtedly trying to squeeze in a quick catnap.
"So what's harshin' your vibe today, Toshi?" Mic asked, giving his hair a playful ruffle before picking up the full bottle and giving it a little shake. "Not a fan of formula anymore?"
Hitoshi just whined in response and rested his head against Mic's ribcage. With a shrug, Hizashi turned around the hobbled back into the living room to sit on the couch. He set the bottle on the coffee table and Hitoshi in his lap, facing towards him. He then covered the baby's eyes with his hands.
"This oughta cheer you up! Where's the baby? Where's Hitoshi?"
Hitoshi burbled and grabbed at Hizashi's fingers, trying to pry them off of his face. Hizashi chuckled before pulling his hands away with a dramatic gasp.
"There he is! Peekaboo!"
But instead of the amused giggles and clapping he was expecting, Hitoshi just groaned and rubbed at his eyes, still adjusting to the sudden brightness of the room. Thinking it may have been a fluke, Mic tried again, covering the baby's eyes and revealing himself once more with an enthusiastic "Peekaboo!" But Hitoshi was still unimpressed, even going so far as to flop forward into Hizashi's chest after the second round of play. The blonde quirked an eyebrow and frowned at the less than enthusiastic reactions.
"I don't get it, Toshi. You usually love this game." He grumbled, "If I didn't know any better I'd say you were bored!"
At that, the baby sat up and glared at Hizashi. If Hitoshi was able to, Hizashi was sure he'd have rolled his eyes in that moment.
"Is that it, little guy? You're just bored?"
"Bah!"
"Well why didn't ya say so!" Hizashi said with a laugh, lifting Hitoshi into a standing position on this thighs. "We have been playing the same old tune for a while now, haven't we bud? Maybe it's time to get out of the house for a bit."
As if on cue, Hizashi's phone began to ring. He fished it out of his pocket to see an incoming call from Inko Midoriya. Since they met on Christmas Eve, he and Inko had been casually texting back and forth, mostly sharing pictures of the kids. He happily accepted the call and put the phone on speaker.
"Hizashi here! Give me a shoutout!"
"Hello, Hizashi." Inko's gentle voice came over the microphone, "I have a question for you. Do you remember how we talked about getting the boys together back at the café?"
"Sure I do!"
"Well do you think it would be possible to arrange something for this week? I'm sure both you and Shouta have busy schedules, but Izuku's just been so moody and restless lately... I think it would do him good to have a little friend to play with."
"Are you kiddin' Inko? Of course we can get the kids together!" Hizashi cheerfully exclaimed, "Hell, we can meet today if ya want! Hitoshi's been pretty grouchy about being cooped up at home all day too. He's almost as bad as Sho!"
