Chapter 19

Lia

It's Friday finally. Today I decided to dress up a little. I'm wearing dark blue high waisted jeans, a black belt with a heart buckle keeping it secure at my waist. A black lace cami loosely tucked into the jeans. Since it's the middle of December I'm also wearing a black and white windbreaker. White on the top and black on the bottom. The windbreaker slightly oversized. And just to be basic, white Air Force ones.

My hair natural and flowing over my shoulders. And of course the only make up I have is mascara and chapstick.

"Good Morning Lia." Jake says walking past my locker.

I look over my shoulder at him and he's smiling at me. I smile in return.

"Good Morning Jake." I say.

The small exchange ends at that and Jake walks to his first period class which we share together.

Lilly has not come to my locker the past month. She's been going to Mikes. So I really come to school and go to my first few classes, alone.

Christmas is approaching. Meaning Alex is coming home soon.

Next week is our last week at school before Christmas break.

I gather my things and head to math class. I'm in a pretty good mood today. Getting to hang out with my friends last night.

I walk into class with a big smile on my face. I take a seat next to Lilly.

"Morning Mate." I say.

"Good Morning. You're in a Good mood."

"Indeed I am."

I turn to face the front of the class and realize that Jake is back in his regular seat.

"I feel good." I say stretching my arms up.

"You look good too." Jake says turned in his seat.

"Thanks." I say. I am a bit surprised. I kind of thought we hated each other here.

I look at Lilly and she's giving Jake a disgusted look.

"Okay then." Lilly whispers.

"It is Friday, ladies!" Toby announces as he walks into the class. He points at us, "Pizza Shop tonight?" He asks.

"I uh. I have somewhere to be at six so unless we can go before then." I say.

"Where?" Lilly asks.

"Some place my dad is taking me after hockey and lax."

"Well we have puck till four thirty." Toby says.

"We have lax till five. Lucky for us we're doing indoor conditioning today." Lilly says.

"So that's a no on Pizza Shop." Toby says.

"I guess." I say.

"That sucks! It's Friday!" Toby says.

"Will you stop whining if I invite you all to my house on Saturday?And you can sleepover." I say.

"Yes. Lia pulling through." Toby extends his hand out for me to high five. Which I do.

I walk into History and Mike and Molly's jaw almost drop. As if they've seen a murderer standing behind me.

"What?" I ask panicked. "Is there something wrong with my hair? Something on my face? Something I'm missing?" I ask.

"It's your outfit." Mike says.
