A Cold Winter's Day

The house rocks as the winter winds blow.
Moon and Sun hide behind the forever cold overcast.
The fire crackles as it begins to snow.
Our thoughts begin to eat us as isolation sets in.

We begin to reminisce on the cool summers' past
And all the fair memories of good friends gone.
Life's dead moments and it's cold shadow cast
Haunting todays snowy day about to go wrong.

Today's now far off in our minds,
Only to recollect what others have left in our head.
Leaving troublesome memories to tread
On what you last said.

Before you leave, please know that you were the highlight,
the limelight, the crest light to what is known to be true.
So know that this is was written in spite,
Because this is what is left to ponder in the light

Of A Cold Winter's Day.
