The story begins on January 3rd when the rose family was planning to go to the Winter Ball that would be held in two week's time. The ball would be at the royal palace and was a chance for young nobles to try and find potential spouses for when they turn 16. "Mother, oh please don't make me go. I'm only 14. Why do I need to attend such trivial events when I won't marry for another two years." Rane whined even though they had this conversation before. "Rane you know the reason why. This a great time to socialize and if you meet someone you know and have a connection it will be much easier in four years." Mother said and placed breakfast for Rane, Hennrick, and Purity.
"Yes, listen to mother Rane, I meet Harry around your age and now we will have our wedding next May." Purity said blissfully trying to convenience her stubborn sister. "Yes, yes Purity we all know about your romantic love story with you and Harry." Rane mused, because Purity had been talking about it for months and how she couldn't wait to become a wife. "Well today Mr. Chamberlain will release his new ball gowns today so why don't we go and order something for the ball before your father and grandfather come back from hunting." Mother said clearly excited to shop. "Yes!" Purity and Rane say at the same time. "I don't see what you girls love so much about shopping. It's a waste of time" Hen said, knowing he was just stirring the pot. "How dare you say that about our precious shopping Hen. It is not a waste of time but essential." Purity said in a joking manner.
"Besides if I don't get it done now I will not get a chance since I have to be at the church for the next couple of days." Rane said referring to how she would have to do meditation and research to get closer to Angel Uriel. "Yes, and Rane it is very important that you get closer to Angel Uriel and practice more so you can protect this kingdom from the South. Your father said they have become more active." Mother said in a serious expression. Whenever anyone ever mentioned the Southern Kingdom tension would surely follow. "One day we will beat those fools, and have an orderly united kingdom" Hen said. Everyone slowly nodded their head praying for this to be true. But the war had already gone on for 200 years and yet neither side was closer to winning.
"Well we will be leaving in an hour once you're finished with your breakfast girls make sure to get ready. Oh and Henry tell Sydney to come with us." Mother said, and left the room to make sure all the house chores were being done. Rane and Purity both let out a sigh. Sydney was Hennrick's wife and was a power hungry, lazy, and prideful girl. They had just got married a year ago but she already acted like she owned everything, and all she did was go around and spend money. "Hen do you even love Sydney , you know she is only with you for our royal blood." Rane said she had been trying to convince Hennrick to divorce ever since he was married. "For the last time Rane she's not like that. She's such an angel, how could you!" Hennrick replied pissed off that he had to defend his wife again. "Hen I'm actually related to an angel and from what I know she's nowhere close. She's lazy and a brat!" Rane said, upset he wasn't listening to her. "WE GET IT RANE YOU'RE THE CHOSEN ONE NOT EVERYTHING'S ABOUT YOU!" Hennrick said and stomped out of the kitchen. "HOW DARE HE!" Rane said and rain started to pour outside. "Hey control yourself Rane will show him one day." Purity said with a smile, and left the kitchen also. "They never understand," Rane thought to herself, and quickly went to her room.
