THIS SCENE TAKES PLACE DURING THE FIRST MAJOR KIDDNAPPING WHERE BOWSER AND PEACH GET CLOSE

I grabbed the letter from her tauntingly. "And what's this?"

She buried her face in her hands and said nothing.

"So you're on a first name basis with this plumber now?"I laughed.

"He's a nice guy. I will probably be betrothed to him soon,"she said stiffly.

"There has to be something fun about you. You can't be this stiff all the time,"I said.

"Don't you have young children at home you should be taking care of?"she asked angrily. "They deserve a father who is actually present and not kidnapping girls that are barely legal."

She didn't know it, but I wanted her to be a mother to my kids. To replace Clawdia. Who had been gone for years and was probably never coming back.

"There has to be something more to you,"she continued. "You can't just be plain cruel. There has to be some ulterior motive. Use me as a therapist if you will."

I laughed. "You seriously think I'd give you free blackmail? No thanks. I don't care how bad it gets. Why would I tell anyone?"

"I'm just saying it'll all come out eventually. Probably in an emotional burst several years down the line. I'm just looking out for your best interest,"she shrugged.

"Why do you care about my best interest?"I said. "I literally kidnapped you."

"There has to be some good in you somewhere,"she grinned.

Her smile was beautiful. She was beautiful. She was the sunshine that I never had inside myself. The sunshine my kids needed to not end up like me.

Clawdia was another depressive. She would spiral a lot. It was ok, before Junior was born, because broken attracts broken, and we got along just fine.

Well, there was toxic flames, but that made me more attracted to her than ever.

But this attraction was different. I liked the Princess because she was the sunshine I needed to complement me.

Clawdia and I were too similar.

"You have a really nice smile,"I said.

Peach looked confused. "I've never once saw you smile."

"I have nothing to smile about. I'm a single dad and an outcast to society,"I groaned. "You're a pretty princess. Everyone's idolised you since the day you were born. You don't understand what it's like, Toadstool."

"I do. Broken attracts broken?"She smiled at me and then leaned in to kiss me.

Nobody would ever believe me if I had said that Peach had made the first move, and not me.

I had her pinned to the wall in seconds and we were making out. The thing was, it wasn't the same as Clawdia. It was good, just something was missing.

Princess Peach Toadstool was like sunshine. But she could never outshine Clawdia in my heart.
