That day, Yoongi had asked to go shopping with Jimin.
While Hoseok had been surprised at the odd request, he was quick to agree. He wasn't going to be selfish and keep Yoongi to himself, and honestly, Hoseok wanted Jimin and Yoongi to talk more. Time was of the essence, and even though Jimin knew that Yoongi was a good person, Hoseok wished for Jimin to see it for himself.
Jimin, on the other hand, wasn't too excited about having to hang out with Yoongi.
Nothing against Yoongi; Jimin thought he was a good person all in all, but he'd be lying if he didn't say his ego wasn't bruised at how someone who was dead could make Hoseok happier than he ever could. Still, Jimin was curious as to why Yoongi wanted to carve time out of his limited days to go shopping with Jimin.
Nevertheless, Jimin went along.
"How are Namjoon and Seokjin doing?" Yoongi asked as his fingers passed through the racks of clothes. "Last time I heard of them, they were only going on their third date."
Jimin smiled. "They're doing great. Currently traveling the world for the holidays."
Yoongi's expression lit up. "I would have loved to do that with Hoba! Good for them! Do they know that I'm here?"
"I don't think they do," Jimin shook his head. "This was a spur of the moment decision. Hoseok wasn't going to use his mistletoe this year."
"How come?" Yoongi asked, not out of anger.
"Because I've been stopping him from doing so every year since you died."
Jimin didn't see the point in lying his way through excuses. Yoongi and Jimin both knew that Hoseok would have immediately called for Yoongi, and that, if an outside force hadn't stopped him, Jimin and their other friends would be going to visit Hoseok's tombstone every New Year.
If Yoongi was surprised, he didn't show it. His fingers hovered over a clothing hanger before pulling it out of the rack. Showing the sweater to Jimin, he asked, "Do you think Namjoon would like this? I have no clue if his interests have changed."
Jimin shook his head, smiling wanly. "You don't have to worry about it. It's fine. We haven't given each other presents since you've left. He would like that, though."
"That's all I need," Yoongi grinned. "Now, for the other three and my Hoba. Shouldn't be too hard."
"As long as you're with Hoseok until the end, that's more than enough of a gift," Jimin responded truthfully. Yoongi hummed, nodding.
"Still, if he chooses to stay here with you, I want him to have something to remember me by."
Jimin could almost laugh at Yoongi's nonchalant statement. Did Yoongi genuinely think that Hoseok would choose to stay with Jimin?
"What?" Yoongi asked, eyeing Jimin's funny expression. "Do you not think that Hoseok would stay here?"
"Do you?" Jimin shot back. Yoongi pondered on the question for a few moments before shrugging.
"I think this one would look great on Seokjin," Yoongi decided, taking the jacket from the racks. "Tae and Kook like to match their outfits, right? We should find something that'll match them together. They're still poly, correct?"
Jimin nodded. "Technically, they are. Currently, though, they've been monogamous. I don't think they've found someone fit for both of them yet."
"Finding someone open to the idea of an open relationship is hard," Yoongi agreed, walking towards the opposite end of the store. "I'm glad that Taehyung still stayed with Jungkook. I was afraid that by now, they'd have a falling out. I know Tae was never too comfortable with the idea of sharing."
