ALTERNATE ENDING
❄️❄️❄️
When Hoseok had first approached his high school's steps at the start of his second year, he hadn't known what to expect. His first year had been rough, to say the least. While filled with many exciting adventures, it involved more pain than Hoseok had ever cared to admit. He was more than ready for a fresh start, one with all of his friends.
What he hadn't realized was that one fateful after school encounter would change his whole life.
"I know you had to make time for this, but I really appreciate it."
Hoseok had only smiled at Jungkook's words, slinging an arm over Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook scrunched his nose and attempted to push Hoseok away, only resulting in the older, pulling him closer, laughing loudly.
"Stop!" Jungkook whined. "Taehyung's going to see, and you'll ruin my chances with him."
Hoseok snickered at Jungkook's whine. "Because your little Tae Tae will get jealous seeing that I'm too loving and affectionate towards you?"
"I hate you," Jungkook grumbled, managing to push Hoseok away. "You know that, right?"
"And you were just thanking me for accompanying you to those tryouts." Hoseok shook his head. "This is what I get for trying to help you win Tae's heart, huh?"
As Hoseok and Jungkook conversed with each other, they hadn't realized that someone was watching them from afar. He was watching them from afar, and his eyes had never once left Hoseok's during the tryouts, so when the brief transition from dance tryouts to basketball came, he debated with himself only briefly.
"Excuse me."
Hoseok turned as he felt someone tap his shoulder. The boy who tapped his shoulder smiled brightly, leaving Hoseok momentarily speechless. The boy gestured to the court, the smile never once leaving his face.
"I couldn't help but notice how talented you were during dance tryouts," the boy continued. "I'm usually here to see the end of them before practice starts, and this is the first time I've seen you. I'll be surprised if you don't make it in. You were amazing."
"Yeah," Hoseok smiled awkwardly, glancing at Jungkook, who seemed to have a questionable, suggestive expression on his face. "I only came to help support my friend. Thanks, though, for the compliment, uh..."
"Yoongi," the boy had said, his gummy smile radiating off his features. "Min Yoongi. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Hoseok hadn't paid any attention to Yoongi then, not as much. Though they exchanged numbers, nothing had escalated between them. At least, not too much. Not until Yoongi had befriended Namjoon through Seokjin, and they'd all ended up meeting. It was no surprise that Seokjin and Yoongi were best of friends, so when Seokjin began dating Namjoon, Yoongi tagged along to meet them.
