Hoseok and Yoongi, though always together, were forced to separate during their college years. With different paths before them, two different universities calling their name, they made peace with enduring the hardships of a long-distance relationship, all with the promise that they would always go back to each other. It was a hard decision, but Hoseok and Yoongi deemed it best.
For their future, they had agreed to love each other miles apart.
It was the first time in years that Hoseok had ever been by himself. The university he had chosen to go to was one none of his friends had gone to, and the only reason he'd managed to have a roommate for the year was because of the university's random pairing.
Park Jimin.
Late nights partying, paired with equally long nights of studying and practicing. Apart from Yoongi, Hoseok had never met someone so like him. He and Jimin shared similar interests, and while they had different dance styles, the prevalent feelings were still there. Their love, their passion for dance, bonded them closer in every which way, making those long years without Yoongi all the worthwhile.
Jimin didn't know exactly when he'd started developing feelings for Hoseok. It's not that he wanted to— no one in their right mind would want to fall for their best friend, especially not one who was in a committed relationship. But, just like, Kalypso fell for Odysseus, so did Jimin fall for Hoseok, a special type of unrequited love that would hold in Jimin for as long as he could.
Even in separation, Jimin's feelings for Hoseok never wavered. After college, Jimin set out to do what he had always wanted to do— a professional dancer, while Hoseok went walking back to Yoongi. Still, Jimin and Hoseok had never once lost contact, and even with all the space between them, and whenever Hoseok could, he'd cheer Jimin on, offering the same words of encouragement Jimin would hear throughout their college years.
When Hoseok gave Jimin his wedding invitation, Jimin was more than ecstatic. He took it gratefully in his hands, ignoring the tearing of his heart as Hoseok beamed at him, excitement striking his features as two separate worlds would collide into one. Jimin would not only get the chance to meet Yoongi for the first time, but he'd also meet all of Hoseok's other friends.
Jimin had been nervous, to say the least. He had always been sociable, but meeting a group of friends that had stuck through the years was foreign, much less meeting the man that had managed to capture Hoseok's heart before Jimin ever had a chance to, was very nerve-wracking for him. Hoseok had reassured Jimin that he had said only positive words and that they all already liked him, but it still made Jimin nervous beyond relief.
Unsurprisingly, his nervousness was for nothing. Everyone seemed to immediately accept him, making sure that he had felt at home with them. They had all been together the day of the wedding, chattering excitedly as they waited for Yoongi to arrive. Jimin was most excited. Though it pained him, he wanted to meet the man that had swept Hoseok off his feet, the man that Jung Hoseok was completely, wholeheartedly devoted to.
